Inflation plowed ahead at its fastest 12-month pace in nearly 40 years during December, according to a closely watched gauge the Labor Department released Wednesday. The consumer price index, a gauge that measures costs across dozens of items, increased 7%, according to the department’s Bureau of Labor Statistics. On a monthly basis, CPI increased 0.5%. Economists surveyed by Dow Jones had been expecting the measure to increase 7% on an annual basis and 0.4% from November. The annual move was the fastest increase since June 1982.

This is what the result of a stolen election looks like. The media is to blame for their shameless coverup of this proven fact... You too FOX and let's not forget the gutless RINO's.

Don’t worry, Biden will come out and ignore raising inflation and will claim that his economy is the best in US history.

And that's 7% based upon the cooked CPI numbers that the government has been using for the last decade or so. When calculated the same way as they were in 1982, the actual CPI would be around 16% for 2021. Anyone here get a 16% raise this last year to compensate? Me either.

Just wait until international truckers - between Canada and the US - have to have their covid shot "passport". Mandated, of course. I read elsewhere that that will knock out about 30,000 truck drivers who traverse the border. Talk about slowing down the supply line. That'll do wonders for inflation. And it starts on the 15th of this month. An interesting note: there's been no mention of such a requirement for truckers going between the US and Mexico.

Maybe it's 7%, and likely more. Old timers may remember how these indices were "adjusted" years ago to give a "more accurate" number. That shopping cart does NOT include many items that are particularly price sensitive. Inflation didn't start in January. You might want to take a look at all those bi-partisan TRILLIONS pumped into the economy as stimulus and recovery money. And let's not forget the "spare cash" created by the suspensions of rent and loan repayments. Inflation is caused by too many dollars chasing too few goods...supply chain issues don't help. But let's not simply think pre-January bi-partisan stupidity had no impact. Politicians hate economic downturns. They forever overheat the economy via the Fed and deficit spending on whatever they can buy, like "defense" equipment of "American dream" subsidies, and point fingers when the inevitable happens. Remember 2008...remember 1968... Get your WIN buttons before the price goes up!

And 1982 was a VERY bad year. I purchased my first home in 1983 and managed to find the lowest mortgage rate around, significantly lower than most.....at 12.5% interest rate! Hideous times. And guess, what? THAT was brought to us by the Democrats, too.

It’s been 48 hours since President Joe Biden gave a train wreck of a speech in Georgia and told the American people that if you don’t agree with changing the Senate rules on the filibuster and/or federalizing elections, you are no better than prominent racist Democrats of the past including Bull Connor, George Wallace, and Jefferson Davis. For those who believed Biden’s campaign promises of being a “uniter in chief,” it was a shocking moment, a dramatic turning point in his presidency. For the rest of us who have long been familiar with Joe Biden’s history of fanning the flames of racism for political gain

Federal authorities on Thursday charged Stewart Rhodes, the leader and founder of the extremist far-right Oath Keepers militia, and 10 other people with seditious conspiracy and other crimes for their alleged roles in the Jan. 6 Capitol riot. An indictment alleges that after the November 2020 presidential election, Rhodes and others conspired to oppose by force the transfer of presidential power from then-President Donald Trump to Joe Biden, which included plans to breach and try to take control of the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021. The conspiracy allegedly involved the amassing of firearms on the outskirts of Washington, D.C, and distribution to so-called quick reaction force

If this is their way of trying to hide the bad COVID news from the public in order to help Democrats, they’re waaaaaay too late. [T]hese counts only reflect what is reported by health authorities. They do not include most people who test themselves at home, or are infected without even knowing about it. Holidays and weekends also lead to lags in reported cases… For that reason, The Associated Press has recently told its editors and reporters to avoid emphasizing case counts in stories about the disease. That means, for example, no more stories focused solely on a particular country or state setting a one-day record

Every time I return to report on a new poll of Joe Biden, I wonder: is there a bottom? And every time, Biden keeps convincing me that he still can find ways to go lower. But I have to say, the new Quinnipiac poll definitely has Biden circling the drain and going down fast. I don’t know how much lower he can go and still not have to resign in utter disgrace. He’s in a death spiral across all categories and all groups. Biden’s approval rating has cratered to 33 percent, with 53 percent disapproving. In November, it was 36 percent approval, so it’s still continuing to go down

While the battle over education has settled back into the trenches over the last few months following Glenn Youngkin’s big win in Virginia, we are beginning to learn more about how parents became so demonized. As RedState reported at the time, the NSBA sent a letter to the DOJ that urged action against parents speaking out at school board meetings under the guise of the Patriot Act. The DOJ then used that letter as justification to use its counter-terrorism division to add “threat tags” to parents. But as bad as that was, today’s news makes it all the worse.

As Peter Allen once sang, everything old is new again … including grocery shortages. Joe Biden and Democrats initially scoffed at the idea that Americans can’t find their choices at supermarkets, but the empty shelves have become so numerous as to defy denial. The media is starting to abandon the Democrats’ us-or-your-lyin’-eyes credibility test on the grocery-supply shortages.
