With a razor-thin majority in the Senate, President Joe Biden has managed to confirm judicial nominees at a pace even faster than former President Donald Trump. But despite this unfortunate truth, Biden has also lost a few high-profile leftist activist nominations. Now, there’s another name that needs to be added to that list: Biden has nominated a left-wing activist who thinks photo ID and proof of citizenship are “voter suppression.” Nancy Gbana Abudu, who has ties to the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and is deputy legal director at the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), has been nominated by Biden to replace a retiring Obama-nominated judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals

Democratic Rep. Bobby Rush, who represents Illinois’ 1st congressional district, announced Tuesday that he will not seek a 16th term in the U.S. House of Representatives. Rush first assumed office in January of 1993.
“After nearly three decades in Congress, I have been reassigned,” Rush said in a statement. “Let me make it clear that I am not retiring, I am returning. In a shocking example of media honesty, the editor-in-chief of Germany’s top newspaper, Bild, has apologized for the news outlet’s panic-driven coverage of the China flu. He specifically singled out children who were told “that they were going to murder their grandma.”
Editor-in-chief Julian Reichelt videotaped his apology and told the children of Germany he was sorry for Bild’s coverage, which was “like poison” and “made you feel like you were a mortal danger to society.”

A business owner in Salem, Oregon, painted a mural honoring the American flag and the Marines who raised it at Iwo Jima. Most observers considered it a beautiful memorial and an attractive use of an otherwise nondescript wall. The owner of the business commissioned a local artist to create the tasteful and fetching display of patriotism.
The Salem City Council has ordered him to remove it, or face fines of up to $200 per day.
The artist, Mario De Leon, raised the alarm in a Facebook post:

Jacob Lang has been awaiting trial without bail in the D.C. jail for his involvement in the January 6 riot at the Capitol for almost a year, along with many others who have been charged with crimes connected to that day. With no trial date in sight, he and his fellow inmates languish in a jail they say is inhumane. The J6 prisoners’ complaints about filthy conditions and inhumane treatment resulted in a surprise inspection that found everything they were saying was true. As a result, over 400 prisoners were moved to different facilities—none of them J6 prisoners.

Last year at this time we were hoping for a better year in 2021, but that sure as heck didn’t work out, did it?

The Chicago Teachers’ Union, which represents 25,000 teachers in the city, voted Tuesday to strike against in-person schooling and conduct remote instruction until the Omicron spike subsides.
