Cable News Ratings, Monday December 27:
The Five’s Substitute Hosts Draw Big
Audience During Holiday Week

Original Article

Cable news ratings are down across the board this week — traditionally one of the slowest in news — with one exception: Fox News show The Five, which drew a whopping 3.12 million total viewers and 406,000 in the demo. (NB: Because of the holiday weekend, Nielsen ratings are delayed, hence why Monday’s numbers are only coming out today). Those numbers would be impressive in a normal news cycle. But in the week between Christmas and New Year’s, when many cable news hosts are on vacation and their show are hosted by substitutes, it’s particularly impressive. For example: Tucker Carlson

Comments:

The 5, with guest hosts, crushes Jakey Tapper by a 4-1 margin. The chart is a little hard to read, but CNN trails way behind Fox on every program.

They can get rid of that Richard dude anytime. If I wanted a loon who spouts crap left of MSNBC, I would watch them instead. He has his head fully inserted in Xiden's rear end, to the point that he makes up the most ridiculous things just to have something to say. There are far better liberals out there.

Never really got the vibe of The Five (but I rarely miss Gutfeld!). But notice FNC won every time slot. Many over CNN and MSNBC combined.

Who is subsidizing CNN to pay their costs? Their advertisers are being taken to the cleaners with those viewer numbers.

I watch The Five every morning as I have my coffee (it’s currently on at 7.00am here) but whenever I see Richard Fowlers face on there I turn it off. I can’t stand him. Also Geraldo gets muted.

I agree with other posters that I could really do without Richard Fowler. The only difference between Richard and Juan Williams...who I don't miss one little bit....is that Fowler laughs while he's lying to you. I really dislike him. I could also seriously do without DR. Nicole Saphier. Dear God Almighty! Does she NEVER stop Talking?! Does she breathe through her ears or something?! Whatever she might have to say of value is completely lost in the thick fog bank of words she spews out! Even JUAN didn't like her. After she talked nonstop for a full minute a couple of mornings ago, I couldn't take it and muted her and she STILL went on and on for another three minutes! I can tolerate Richard Fowler...not her.

#5, cable systems pay CNN for the privilege of carrying CNN. And you and I pay the cable systems for the right to be hooked up to them. I have, however, read that the cable industry will be dead in 5 years.(unless the federal governwent subsidizes and saves them.)

Re #1, must be talking about Richard Fowler, who has been a token lefty black on Fox since (it would seem) he graduated from high school. Like Juan, he ends up being decimated by the others. Juan is getting old; maybe Richard is to be his replacement at punching bag. Harris Faulkner does not put up with the nonsense he spouts.

The white Richard Fowler is an aging Dem aparatchik called Leslie Marshall. Acid-tongued, sourpuss whose face tells us her plastic surgeon husband is a failure. She’s on The Five today with a cast of Conservatives. Should be fun.

It may surprise you to learn that the most common type of case federal prosecutors bring is not for drugs or fraud, as many think. As reported by The Washington Times, that honor goes to cases against illegal aliens who try to reenter the country after having been deported. And almost all those charged are Hispanic, of course. Now, according to The Times, federal courts are facing the ridiculous question of whether the “imbalance” in deportations means U.S. immigration law is… wait for it… racist. Ridiculous? One court in Nevada has ruled it means exactly that. Judge Miranda Du, an Obama appointee [no kidding?],

Lumping Donald Trump with Osama Bin Laden? That's going too easy on the former president! At least, if you ask CNN's "national security analyst" Juliette Kayyem, a former Obama DHS assistant secretary. Appearing on Thursday morning's New Day, Kayyem said that when a year ago in an Atlantic article she depicted Trump as "the leader of a terror movement," she was, as she recently tweeted, actually being "too kind" to him! (Video) Perhaps realizing just how outrageous was Kayyem's accusation, substitute host John Avlon tried to soft-pedal it. He framed it as his Kayyem calling Trump head of an "extremist" movement, not a "terror" one.
