CHICAGO — More than a year after the vaccine was rolled out, new cases of COVID-19 in the U.S. have soared to their highest level on record at over 265,000 per day on average, a surge driven largely by the highly contagious omicron variant. New cases per day have more than doubled over the past two weeks, eclipsing the old mark of 250,000, set in mid-January, according to data kept by Johns Hopkins University. The fast-spreading mutant version of the virus has cast a pall over Christmas and New Year’s, forcing communities to scale back or call off their festivities

So much for shutting down the virus.

....highest levels on record.....based on results gathered by a PCR test that's being pulled off the market because of so many false negatives.

Remember Biden’s claimed plan during the presidential campaign to “shutdown” the virus? Obviously we now see that there was no such plan! The was just the first in a ongoing effort by Biden to continuously lay a “snow job” on the American people.

The tests are flawed for one thing. The virus is 99.8% survivable for another thing. I don't believe anything the media says about anything... for a third thing.

Gosh, maybe because people are getting tested at a high rate since the MSM has been on a 24/7 campaign about the terrible Omicron variant (with symptoms similar to a nasty cold).

Didn’t the CDC say last week they had miscounted the Omicron virus and it was really the delta variant running rampant? If so this article is fake news because it attributes the case rise to Omicron. The CDC needs to be shutdown along with the lying media.

The CDC just today corrected their numbers. Omicron is only 23% of new infections. Not that it matters, but this reporter can’t do even a little research.

What difference does the number of cases make if people are not getting seriously ill or dying? Should we start collecting data on the common cold?

No, it's not even a bad cold in most instances. We personally know several people who have it right now (if you can even believe the asserted positive cases) and their symptoms are essentially mild colds). This is a complete fraud.

The article really means the number of positive tests not cases. If you double the testing you will "double the number of cases." Fauci knows better but won't state what I just stated. In fact, everyone who has finished the second year of medical school knows the difference, as well as anyone with common sense.

"driven largely by the highly contagious omicron variant" You mean the highly contagious, mild-symptomed 'omicron variant'. "The fast-spreading mutant version of the virus" Notice how the mainstream media have collectively forgotten the mitigating aspect of it that should have everybody saying "ho hum". They can't whip everybody into a panic if we don't forget that part, so just leave it out...

President Trump was slammed by political opponents including the national news media for "cases," even noting that more testing equates to more "cases" (whether correct or asymptomatic), so pResident Biden should be held to the same standard. Even more so because Biden claimed to have a secret plan but did not, and because the health system under his watch (nap?) had a year of experience under its belt plus these fantastic vaccines that do not work.

A lot of people should be arrested for this farce, beginning with Doctor Fauci and the shot pushers, but there's little chance of that happening because so many people are involved, and there are fortunes being created out of thin air and arbitrary power given to eager tyrants who force us out of work and make us take shots and wear masks, at their whim. Pride and vanity preclude the possibility of reversing course, with even Donald Trump claiming to have developed the vaccines himself, and saying the fault lies with the unvaccinated.

There is a quiet revolution happening across America and it could mark the beginning of the biggest spiritual, cultural, and political changes this country has seen since the Civil War. New data made public earlier this week by the U.S. Census Bureau makes clear that millions of Americans are leaving Blue high-tax, high-crime, high-COVID-mandate Democratic states and moving to Red Republican states where taxes are lower, the police aren’t being defunded, and churches still thrive. Consider the contrast between Texas and Idaho on the one hand and New York and the District of Columbia on the other, as described by the Census Bureau (emphasis added):
