Former Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, who rose from poverty in rural Nevada to the heights of Democratic politics, has died at the age of 82. "I am heartbroken to announce the passing of my husband, former Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid. He died peacefully this afternoon, surrounded by our family, following a courageous, four-year-battle with pancreatic cancer,"

Comments:

Another politician who used his office to enrich himself and his family members. Remember, he is the one who was driving cattle ranchers out of business.

#5 I can’t remember what El Rushbo called him but Mark Levin always called him Harry The Body Reid. Due to him being an amateur boxer CNN in his youth. In my opinion he will be remembered as one of the sleaziest and most corrupt politicians ever. As Senate Majority Leader he was more of a dirtbag than tiny Tom Daschle. He did more harm than good for my country so his passing means nothing.

He was a typical, nasty Democrat who lied and slandered his political enemies. I heard about his death on Fox News and was shocked when the commentator, Will Cain, praised him. Will Cain is very young so perhaps didn't know Reid was a real SOB.

Every country has a certain number of sleazy people in leadership positions but no country is better because of them. The exact extent to which Reid wielded power proportionately lessened the country’s attainment of greatness.. It is no surprise that Chuck Schumer would admire him. He was detestable.

I usually don’t waste time speaking ill of the dead - but in this case I’ll make an exception. Harry Reid was a no-good, prevaricating, backstabbing mongrel low-life criminal who would have stolen crab lice if he’d found a buyer. He used his office to enrich himself instead of serving his constituency. He’s face to face with the Devil right now, finding out what all that money and power are worth in Hell: nothing.

A Vanderbilt University professor argued that insects must compose a larger share of the world’s food supply. In an opinion piece for Bloomberg, Amanda Little — who teaches investigative journalism and science writing at the prestigious university — lauded the European Union’s recent decision to approve insects for human consumption. According to Little, the move ought to be carried out across the globe: The approval confers a kind of dignity to the lowly, protein-rich microbeasts that we foolishly dismiss as pests, and delivers a clear signal that the insect proteins industry is poised for significant growth. Above all, it paves the way for an alternative protein source

The U.S. Constitution is the sacred text of American government and civic life. But it’s time to face facts: The document, written in 1787, isn’t working. The signs are all around us. Just 38 percent of Americans in a recent Gallup poll expressed either a “great deal” or “quite a lot” of confidence in the presidency, down from 48 percent in 2001. Congress, never high in the public’s estimation to begin with, fell from 26 percent to a mere 12 percent. The Supreme Court has also taken a hit, down from 50 percent to 36 percent during the same period.
