Philadelphia doesn’t have much of an Afghan population. But it’s about to get one, fueled by the local resettlement of hundreds of evacuees from among the 50,000 now living on U.S. military bases. The leaders of a new group, Afghans of Philadelphia (AOP), say they’re prepared—to help and to lead and, most of all, to seize this moment of change to forge a cohesive, vibrant and involved Afghan community. Already they’ve jumped in to assist, translating for Afghans arriving at Philadelphia International Airport—more than 28,000 people and counting—and collecting winter gear for the 11,000 evacuees housed at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst in South Jersey. “It’s Philly’s time,”

Let's see a "vibrant Afghan community" will have.... Ritual stoning of the unbelievers and adulterers on Mondays. Tuesdays are for tossing homosexuals off tall buildings. Wed they will molest little boys. Thursday is "Burn a Christian Church Day". On Fridays the all get together for a slave market. Saturdays are reserved for burning girl's schools. Fun times in a vibrant Afghan community, for sure.

Santa Claus is too white, too straight and too male for most young people in the UK today, according to a poll. The modern depiction of Father Christmas as an old white man with a big bushy beard who wears a red and white suit was made globally famous by Coca Cola’s adverts of the 1930s. A survey by YouGov has now found that 60 per cent of 18–24-year-olds in the UK think it is ‘acceptable’ for Santa to be gay. But 41 per cent across all age groups said it was not OK, including 17 per cent of lesbian, gay and bisexual respondents.
