Democratic Socialist Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York has jumped onto a tweet sent by former NYPD Commissioner Bill Bratton that went viral earlier this week. In the tweet, Bratton—who worked under outgoing Mayor Bill de Blasio—showed several homeless people sleeping on a subway train. 'You know why NY's 'recovery' isn't happening? This photo today on the E Train at 6:45am at 42nd & 8th says it all,' he wrote. 'Why should working people & tourists be subjected to this? How's it fair to those who need services? Imagine the cops' frustration with no support to deal with it!' Ocasio-Cortez joined many others on the left in slamming

Half the population of New York City are women, can you see a lone woman boarding the depicted subway car to go to work in the morning? Chances of her getting off that car in one piece would be slim indeed.

If AOC drove a Honda instead of a Tesla just think of the money she could donate to the homeless.

Why does this AOC person seem to garner only superficial criticisms and "isn't she an adorable moron" kind of comments? Why hasn't anyone started an honest can of whup-a-- on her past, connections, performance and positions? Is she so squeaky-clean or something, or is everyone just scared to death of the latinx twit?

How did AOC get elected, then reelected? The famous demonrat voting fraud with the help of dominion counting machines, that's how.

In the old days the cops would move in with night sticks and start busting heads. Too late now. When you start subsidizing these bums you only get more of it. Some people are just permanently broken and can’t be fixed.

I call for Congress to be staffed by volunteers without pay only a $100/day per diem unadjusted for inflation. Salaries saved are to be applied to the national debt.

It's my understanding that all cities have plenty of homeless SHELTERS but that nightly many beds go unused because people who could take advantage of them are unwilling or unable to follow the rules for the 8 to 10 consecutive hours necessary for everyone there to get a good night's sleep.
For example, there's a "lights out" time which lasts for the duration of the night after which you can't just noisily come in or get up and leave at any time you please, you can't be intoxicated upon arrival, you can't smoke, drink, or party while you're there, you can't solicit or have sex, etc. Many homeless are homeless because they can't go 8 to 10 hours without indulging in the behaviors that cause them to be homeless in the first place, so they stay out on the street to exercise their "freedom".
Am I correct in my information here as to the cause of many homeless out in public and not in a shelter?

Anyone see the problem here? FTA: 'The NYPD's budget is set to rise again from $5.22 billion to $5.43 billion in 2022. That's an increase of over $200,000, but still down from the $6 billion 2020 budget for the police.' Non-NYC math makes that an increase of 210 million dollars.

It's amazing to me that a Little Bartender can win a Seat in Congress and in a couple years she can afford designer clothes and a Tesla! Does anyone think SHE takes the Subway? No way. I'm betting she gets around in a Uber when not driving her fancy and expensive Car! The people who voted her in should be wondering what he has done for THEM! Exactly where did all the money come from that allows her to have this Lifestyle? And she has the balls to demand WE pay off her Student Loans! I don't think so Sweetheart!

Cortex, you defund the police schtick will disappear once you have been held and gunpoint by your fellow blacks and your car and credentials are taken and then when they come back for you a second and third time. And the fourth time when they show up at your front door demanding that you leave.

They are homeless. Because. They are ADDICTS. And PSYCHOTICS.
PERIOD. It's got nothing to do w/inequality. Nothing to do w/housing supply. Nothing to do w/popo.

Why doesn't AOC, the world's foremost economist, investigate what became of the billion dollars Bill De Blasio's spent on a mental healthcare initiative that's shown no results at all, as demonstrated in part by the number of crazy homeless people riding the subways?
