A parent told President Joe Biden 'Let's Go Brandon!' during the NORAD Santa Tracker event with First Lady Jill Biden at the White House complex on Friday. The first couple hosted kids and their parents in the South Court Auditorium and talked to people virtually. A dad named Jared beaming in from Oregon said 'Merry Christmas' and 'Let's Go Brandon'—code on the right for 'f**k Joe Biden'—after his kids told the president what they wanted from Santa Claus. Reporters in the room said that Biden seemed unphased. 'Go Brandon, I agree,' the president said in response. Earlier, the president made a surprise visit to Children's National Hospital

Getting ready for Monday night’s Met Gala is proving quite a feet for Mayor Eric Adams. The Ferragamo-loving pol took time out of his busy schedule in the afternoon to treat himself to a pedicure ahead of the city’s fashion event of the year. Video posted on Twitter showed Hizzoner barefoot in the beauty chair at Cuccio Nail Salon in Washington Heights, Manhattan, while one of the staff washed his feet. “The Met Ball—so we’ll make sure I have a pedi done before I go,” Adams quips in the short clip. John Boehner backed out of a deal to join a marijuana lobbying group—but only after he allegedly stole its data and talking points to form another, pro-weed lobbying outfit of his own, an explosive lawsuit claims. The former House speaker signed an agreement in March 2018 to become co-chair of the 10 Campaign—a weed legalization group that takes its name from the 10th Amendment of the US Constitution, which establishes states’ rights, according to the suit filed in the Superior Court for the District of Columbia. Less than a year later, in February 2019, however, Boehner announced he was launching a new group called the National Cannabis

Kathy Boudin, who spent decades in prison for her part in the deadly 1981 Brink’s armored truck heist as a member of the radical militant group Weather Underground, died of cancer at the age of 78 in New York on Sunday. In October 1981, Boudin and members of the group teamed up with the Black Liberation Army for the robbery to help fund their anti-government campaigns. They targeted a Brink’s armored truck, which they held up in Rockland County, making off with $1.6 million. During the robbery, gunmen killed Brink’s security guard Peter Paige before transferring the money to a U-Haul truck a mile away,

Asian-American groups are getting $20 million in the new New York State budget to fight an alarming tide of hate crimes that has shaken local communities. The money in the $220 billion annual budget deal falls short of the amount Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) organizations had sought, but it doubles last year’s funding. “The Asian American community has never been properly accounted for in the state budget,” state Sen. Ukrainian officials on Saturday accused Russian forces of seizing grain in contested regions of Ukraine as fears of a looming food security crisis linger amid the ongoing war. Together, Russia and Ukraine account for nearly a third of the world’s wheat exports, and western officials fear exports could fall precipitously below pre-invasion levels. “Today, there are confirmed facts that several hundred thousand tons of grain in total were taken out of the Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, Donetsk and Luhansk regions,” Ukraine’s Deputy Agriculture Minister Taras Vysotsky told Ukrainian television on Saturday.
