VATICAN CITY -The Vatican on Saturday warned conservative Roman Catholics who have balked at Pope Francis' decision to restrict the old traditionalist Latin Mass that they were sowing division and engaging in "sterile polemics". The Vatican department overseeing sacraments and liturgy issued a directive in response to bishops' requests for clarification following a document in July in which Francis overturned decisions by his two predecessors and tightened access to the Mass. Since July some conservatives, including bishops, have openly defied the pope, resulting in the latest chapter of what some have dubbed the Church's "liturgy wars". Religious conservatives in the

Being an Altar Boy in the late 1950's and 1960's, I had to memorize the Creed in Latin. It was a challenge but I accomplished it. My weakness was making sure I didn't pass out during the Mass as back then you had to fast from the night before not 1 hour as it is today if you were to receive communion. Many times come Communion time, I pass out and fall on the hard marble floor Paten and all. What an embarrassemnt.

Recently attended a High mass said in Latin. I had my old missal with all the Latin prayers. It was beautiful. The choir was awesome. Brought back so many wonderful memories I saw many an alter boy pass out at mass. Happened. My boyfriend use to press the pattern into my throat while receiving communion. This Pope is bonkers. It’s our belief in the Eucharist that keeps us going to church. Not this poor excuse of a Pope

I am not a Catholic but attended Mass with a friend many years ago. It was, of course, in Latin and I thought it majestic. It almost made this old Scots Presbyterian convert to Catholicism. The Pope is a leftist plant and all leftists seem to want to destroy Western culture and history.

So the progressives in the Catholic Church who have made it their business to rely on the Vatican II Document "Sensum Fidelium" to try to justify their demands for revolutionary changes to the polity of the Catholic Church including an actual written Constitution on the the USA model including an elected system of government from the parish right up to the Papacy itself including term limits, to further liberalization of Catholic Dogma and radical abrogations of its Moral Theology and Teaching Authority are now claiming that "Sensum Fidelium" should play no part in determining widespread pleas for the traditional Tridentine Rite to co exist with the NOVO ORDO Mass, which two immediately previous popes had authorized.
