Harry Reid, one of the Senate’s longest serving majority leaders and a Democrat who played a central role in enacting President Obama’s biggest legislative accomplishments, died Tuesday at 82.
The death was announced by longtime political reporter Jon Ralston, who called Reid "probably the most important elected official in Nevada history." "Harry Reid was one of the most amazing individuals I've ever met," Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) said in a statement. "He was my leader, my mentor, one of my dearest friends."

The Mark Twain quote about enjoying reading someone’s obituary comes to mind. A total political hack and crook is being welcomed by Satan.

What did all the hate, evil, and lies accomplish you, Harry? You still died, and have nothing.

He was at one time a moderate Democrat. He turned that over to be a national Democrat. Another claim to infamy was telling the very novice senator, Barack Obama, that if he wanted to be president he had to do it in 2008.

FTA:~~ "Many Republicans, however, were happy to see Reid go. Then Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell (Ky.) angrily predicted in 2013 that Reid would be remembered as “the worst leader of the Senate ever” if he went ahead with a controversial rules change known as the nuclear option to make it easier to confirm Obama’s appellate court picks. Undeterred, Reid went ahead with the unilateral procedural move in November of that year, lowering the bar for confirming executive branch and judicial nominees below the level of Supreme Court.
Breaking the Republican filibuster allowed Obama to fill three vacancies on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia, the second most powerful court in the nation, and swing its majority to the left." ~~
Sad times for America....and, unfortunately, it continues.........

The LV airport should be renamed ?The Bugsy Seigel Airport" as he did more for LV than Reid ever did and was far more honest.

I'm trying to retain my Christmas spirit, so I will just say that I hope Sen. Reid packed swim trunks and a fan for his final destination once his judgment is done!!

Harry Reid made it possible for Trump to place three justices on the Supreme Court.
His legacy will be the Reid Rule: Whatever the Democrats can do when they are in power, the Republicans can also do when they are in power.

It has been a long time tradition that the dirtiest democrat in the Senate is elected their leader so there is really no need to elaborate on Reid's qualities. They did it for us.

My beloved mother and two grandmothers may they rest in peace told me as a little boy if you can say nothing nice don't say anything at all. Well I'm going to have to disobey them on this one. Harold Mason Reid Junior was a corrupt, repressible, arrogant, stupid, partisan, dishonest, unethical, sad strange little man. As Senate Majority Leader he changed long standing Senate rules because he didn't want Republicans to have any input to stop then President Obama's anti-American agenda. He lied about Mitt Romney's taxes and after that cowardly dunce went down in flames he bragged that his lie worked. Let's not forget that he called ordinary Americans like you and me who toured OUR nation's Capitol smelly people as if his corrupt Schiff didn't stink. He died because of pancreatic cancer which is one of the worse to have because normally before you know you have it it's at stage 4. Someone I loved very much had it and died within a month of diagnosis. So I will not wish that on anyone. I'll rap this up by saying that my heart goes out to his family because they lost a loved one but that's as far as my sympathy goes in regards to him.
