New York—The CEOs of Target (TGT), Best Buy (BBY), Nordstrom (JWN), Home Depot (HD) and CVS (CVS) are among a group of 20 retail leaders who sent a letter Thursday to Congress expressing their concern over a recent wave of brazen store robberies in major US cities and urged lawmakers to take action. The group called on Congress to pass legislation that would deter criminals from being able to easily resell stolen merchandise, specifically online. "As millions of Americans have undoubtedly seen on the news in recent weeks and months, retail establishments of all kinds have seen a significant uptick in organized crime in communities across the nation,"

St. Cloud—Move over, Spanish and French. St. Cloud public schools next year will be offering Somali and Ojibwe to all students as elective languages. "It just makes sense for us to have it," said Lori Posch, executive director of learning and teaching for St. Cloud schools. "We want to see our students represented in our courses." The move comes after the St. Cloud school district this fall introduced what is thought to be the first native Somali language course in the state—and possibly the nation—for secondary students. Some students who are immigrants or refugees have limited or interrupted formal education.

Wilmington, Del.—A highway sign that recently went up in Delaware was noticeably missing a letter in the state's name. The new Wilmington exit sign on Interstate 95 should have said "Delaware Ave" but was misspelled as "Delware," The News Journal reports.
Delaware's transportation department and its contractor, Kiewit Infrastructure Company, say the sign was always meant to be temporary and has been replaced. A veteran CNN producer who worked “shoulder to shoulder” with now disgraced ex-anchor Chris Cuomo has been indicted on charges of luring young girls to his Vermont ski house for “sexual subservience” training.
John Griffin, of Stamford, CT, allegedly used messaging apps to befriend and persuade moms of young girls, telling them “a woman is a woman regardless of her age,” and that he should be the one to “train” their daughters sexually, according to the indictment from the US Attorney of Vermont.
Griffin, 44, allegedly got at least one mom of two daughters to bring the girl to his Ludlow ski getaway, in June 2020.
