Aussies Gone Mad [Updated]

I used to think that Australians are a freedom-loving people, but that has turned out not to be true. Crocodile Dundee is dead; Pajama Boy now rules. For many months, Australia has labored under one of the world’s most extreme, and most destructive, shutdown regimes. Its national and state governments have pursued the irrational dream of banning a virus from their shores. Good luck with that: it isn’t going to happen. So, for the last year and more, Australia has been home to demonstrations, protests, and often extreme state responses to those demonstrations. Vaccine hysteria and masks are bad enough, but Australia actually has camps

Australia and New Zealand should be ostracized and forced out of all international economic, financial, and security organizations. They have become totalitarian states and should be forced to go that route alone.

I've always thought the Aussies rather sheep-like. I met a few on a cruise ship once and they treated anyone in uniform with kow-tow respect. They were ordered to give up imperial weights and measures (what we use) for the metric system. The American politician forcing that on us will be out of work next election. Aussies meekly obeyed. Then they were told to turn in their guns. Not a whimper, just a smile and a "good day, mate." Covid? You can hear their sheep baas way up in North America. New Zealanders are just about as supine to government.

This whole article is absolute BS. As for your comment #4 that’s even worse, you should be ashamed of yourself. I live in Sydney and I go where I want when I want and have done since the so called pandemic started. I’ve never had anyone ask me where I’m going. I meet my friends, on Saturday last weekend I went to the casino (yes I had to wear a mask) and on Sunday I went to a large outdoor picnic and heaven forbid no one asked for vax status and nobody had a mask on. You Americans are so damn insular and believe all the p00p that’s fed to you. Wise up.

I guess we can’t believe out lying eyes. Those pictures of Aussie Concentration Camps are photoshopped, and the accounts of those arrested and placed there are fabricated. There seems to be Australians who are like Germans under the Nazis who refused to believe what was happening to the Jews, Poles, homosexuals, and Gypsies. Sydney may be safe because that’s where the money and political influence is, but who cares about the smaller towns that aren’t. They can be bullied and no one in Sydney or Melbourne or Canberra cares. Ills say it again, you always get what you vote for. But Aussies do make some good TV shows!

I had the pleasure of meeting , and drinking with, some Australians while on my class trip to the far East in the 60's. I've never met people that could hold their beer like they could. Judging all Australians by a few, is like judging al Americans by the denizens of San Francisco or NY.

I don't think it's this bad but Australia has been experimenting with Socialism and its offshoots for a long time. I remember back in the seventies when they expanded their welfare system to such a fantastic level that nearly half the population decided to spend all of their time on the beach because working was just not worth it any longer - something America seems to be trying now, fifty years later. It still doesn't work but one must give it a try anyway to make sure.

Exactly, #9. Who are you going to believe? #7, or your lying eyes? It’s interesting to me to read the occasional defense of Australia with very similar “nothing to see here” posts. Almost like it was an orchestrated campaign to spread disinformation about the horrors now taking place in that country. What’s even worse is that if #7’s version IS true, why are those who are free so complacent about what’s happening to their fellow citizens?

Former Republican senator Bob Dole has died at the age of 98, his family said in a statement Sunday. “Senator Robert Joseph Dole died early this morning in his sleep. There was a lot of news this week, but I didn’t want to miss talking about how one very important Biden hypocrisy caught up to him this week during a White House press briefing. When President Donald Trump was in office, Joe Biden took every effort to blame all the COVID deaths on him. But now that Biden is in office and there have been more deaths under Biden than there were under Trump, even with vaccines and treatments, Biden and the media are strangely silent about those numbers. Biden is, of course, not taking any responsibility for those numbers. But White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki was asked

New York City remains largely reopened after all of the COVID shutdowns and many people are returning to work in their offices rather than from home via Zoom calls and such. But that doesn’t mean that life has gone back to what it was in pre-pandemic days. While the threat from the virus may be decreasing, the threat of violent crime has been steadily climbing in the other direction and that has altered the way employers have been advising their workers about safely commuting and navigating the streets of the city. At some Wall Street financial institutions, managers are telling

Americans with a “great deal of confidence” in the U.S. military dropped a staggering 11 percent from February under Commander in Chief Joe Biden, according to a survey released Friday by the Ronald Reagan Institute. The Reagan National Defense Survey showed that the percentage of Americans having a great deal of trust and confidence in the U.S. military was only 45 percent — the first time that number has dropped below 50 percent since the survey was first conducted in 2018. It is also a steep drop from 56 percent in February 2021. The institute said in its summary, “Almost a year into the Biden Administration and

But, apparently, there was more to this story. Cuomo was suspended after text messages released by the New York attorney general’s office showed Cuomo was actively assisting with his brother’s response to the allegations of sexual misconduct against him and exploiting his media connections to dig up dirt on Andrew’s accusers. We retained a respected law firm to conduct the review, and have terminated him, effective immediately." "While in the process of that review, additional information has come to light,"
Is Omicron a cross between COVID and the

Or is it a cross between COVID and HIV? I shouldn’t say “a cross,” as that’s overstating what happened here. Researchers in Massachusetts looked at the new variant’s genome and found a weird quirk. It contains a tiny bit of genetic code that hasn’t appeared in any previous variant of SARS-CoV-2 but does appear in other coronaviruses, including one associated with the common cold. How did that happen? Their theory is that the coronavirus that causes COVID and some other virus were present and replicating in patient zero at the same time. Remember the (very) old Reese’s commercial, “you got your chocolate in my peanut butter”?

On Tuesday, November 30, a 15-year-old boy allegedly used a firearm belonging to his father to open fire on classmates, killing four students. The morning of the attack, school administrators met with the boy’s parents and showed them disturbing notes found that day indicating the boy was willing to do harm to himself and others. The boy also was caught searching for ammo on his phone just days before the shooting. But, rather than disciplining the child, the school simply gave the parents the option of pulling him out of class or leaving him in school following a meeting with school officials.

Governor Ron DeSantis proposed reinstating Florida’s State Guard—and the entire leftist establishment went mad. So mad, indeed, that Sarah Silverman, of all people, issued a “calm down” warning to MSNBC’s professional hysteric, Joy Reid. State guard forces are nothing new and nothing exciting. Indeed, even Wikipedia has an honest and temperate description of them. It explains that they are military units that operate under the aegis of the given state’s governor. Unlike a state’s national guard forces, they cannot be federalized. (You may recall how the Democrats called national guard forces to D.C. in January so there’d be someone there to witness the inauguration of our current (p)resident.)

The bad news about the Omicron variant is that it’s spreading quite rapidly in South Africa and has already appeared in other countries, including the U.S. In South Africa, new reported cases of the coronavirus have spiked from about 250 per day a month ago, to about 2,500 per day a week ago, to 11,500 yesterday. In three days, new coronavirus cases have nearly tripled, due to the emergence of the new variant. The tentative good news about this variant is that so far it doesn’t seem to be causing highly serious illness.
