Students at the University of Florida believed the name “Black Friday” should be changed until they learned that it has nothing to do with race.Referencing a November 18 opinion article in the Chicago Tribune called “Talk of the County: Black Friday should be renamed so it is not ‘discriminating and profiling against black people,’” Campus Reform reporter Ophelie Jacobson asked students at the schools Gainesville campus if they supported changing the name of Black Friday — the day after Thanksgiving on which millions of Americans storm retail shops to get holiday deals for gifts and other items.“I think equality’s important,” one student said in response, while another said “I mean,

If you don’t know why Black Friday is called Black Friday, how in the world did you ever make it to college? Do these kids live in a bubble? Or are they so connected to their devices and social media that they are without basic knowledge? Come on, now. I believe these kids are programmed to see everything through the prism of race. They are looking for something to get upset about. However, this borders on the absurd. The generation who believes they know everything, actually know very little and what they do know is not worth knowing. Not all, mind you, but an alarming number are ignorant of basic facts.

I watched the whole video and came away heartened. Campus Reform often videos from the University of Florida and quite frankly many of that university's students do not come off as very knowledgeable at all. Granted, CR is cherry-picking the interviews that they include so I assume they find the most egregious ones to highlight whatever point they are making with any particular video. That being said, these kids, while of course sounding at first as if they were born on some planet named "SJW Woke" instead of "Earth", eventually make some fairly level-headed comments by the end. Perhaps there is some hope after all. Watch this video for more explanation, re: the Theory of Stupidity https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ww47bR86wSc&ab_channel=Sprouts

We celebrate the reaffirming of the significance of the Second Amendment. Finally, we celebrate because using this particular case illuminated and reinforced the God-given right to self-defense for Americans now and in the future, and that’s foundational to justice. Above anything else, the Rittenhouse case is about justice.

Democrats have long wanted the government to parent or co-parent your children, so it shouldn’t surprise anyone that President Joe Biden said the quiet part out loud Monday night. Is the administration upset that you might be spending too much time with your family? The statement is also rather vague. The “nearly 2 million” number, I assume, represents the 1.8 million-woman reduction in our labor force during the COVID-19 pandemic. But it’s untrue to claim this loss is only due to women leaving work to care for a family member. There are myriad reasons why the pandemic and government-induced shutdowns could have diminished the female workforce.

In early August Gideon Schreiber and a team of virologists at the Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel began playing around with the spike protein of the Sars-CoV-2 virus–the protein that allows the virus to enter our cells–to see if they could predict future mutations that could yield dangerous new variants of Covid-19. At the time, Schreiber noted with concern that there were a variety of ways in which the spike protein could evolve. If all of these mutations occurred at once, it could yield a variant that was both extremely transmissible and potentially capable of evading some of the body’s immune defences
