Stunning good news from Chile -- and not
just for them, but for us

In Chile, the presidential election was straightforward: communism, or liberty. Pick one or the other. No soggy middle. So guess which one got the most votes? Yep, liberty, and I'm not talking about some namby-pamby nice-guy RINO kind of liberty, respectable at Santiago cocktail parties. It was 100-proof hard stuff liberty, prompting shudders from the press. The Associated Press reports this: SANTIAGO, Chile (AP) — Two onetime outsiders hailing from opposite extremes of the political spectrum received the most votes Sunday in Chile’s presidential election but failed to garner enough support for an outright win, setting up a polarizing runoff in the region’s most advanced economy.

Comments:

All the same patterns we saw played out that led to America's red wave are also leading from Chile and should finish as our red wave, given that our elections follow theirs.

28% versus 26% - reason for hope but hardly stunning.

and if it weren't for the true patriotic movement begun by our President, Donald J. Trump, none of these right/center right candidates would have ever seen the light of day. our President has affected the whole world with the truth of the communist surge in destroying and debilitating freely governed countries.

I am always amazed ( I shouldn’t be ) that when the press talks about the Pinochet dictatorship they conveniently leave out the fact for the last 8 years he was the democratically elected President of Chile. He was elected by the people of Chile to be their President. When he was defeated by Aylwin in the 1990 election he retired from politics.

n an unprecedented broadside. Argentina’s Ambassador to Chile Rafael Bielsa on Monday branded Chilean far-right presidential hopeful José Antonio Kast “ant-Argentine” and “xenophobic.” The comments, delivered less than 24 hours after Kast finished first in Chile’s presidential election with 27.8 percent of the vote, were swiftly condemned by governments on in both Buenos Aires and Santiago. Kast, an apologist and supporter of late Chilean dictator Augusto Pinochet, now faces a second-round run-off on December 19 against left-wing candidate Gabriel Boric. Speaking in an interview with El Destape radio, Bielsa condemned the presidential hopeful’s “aggressive” attitude towards Argentina and compared Kast’s rhetoric and views to those of former US president Donald Trump
Monday Schadenfreude: Chesa Boudin gets

There's nothing like a smarmy, smug leftist who's realized he's cooked his own goose. That brings us to the case of Chesa Boudin, the district attorney of San Francisco, who's effectively legalized shoplifting in the name of "criminal justice reform." He's prompted massive store closures with ugly videos of broad-daylight robberies on large and small stores. Boudin's refusal to prosecute has turned San Francisco into another socialist crime pit, Caracas. And now, like his mentor Hugo Chávez, he's facing a voter recall. This seems to be concentrating his mind, given that he's suddenly changing his tune — and comically enough, fooling no one.

In the name of promoting racial equity in that hotbed of racism known as Canada, a labor union representing 60,000 teachers and other educational employees there has restructured its voting system to weight the votes of minority members at the expense of others, in order to ensure an particular outcome in voting on the claim of racial equity. Here's what National Post columnist Jonathan Kay found: (Snip for tweet) What with racial blending these days, it will be interesting to see how they plan to sort their members out. Democrats were up to some slimey old tricks in their bid to ram through the nomination of radical, left-wing Saule Omarova into the position of comptroller of the currency, the nation's top overseer of banks. At the hearings, Sen. John Kennedy triggered a ruckus after he asked what a lot of us are asking: "I don't know whether to call you 'professor' or 'comrade.'" It prompted hollers of 'McCarthyism' from leftwing senators Sherrod Brown and Elizabeth Warren, along with 'racism' and 'sexism' and 'nativism.' Saule herself engaged in that, in a public-relations "build up" interview with New York magazine. The misnamed Lincoln Project, of course, went wild.

When it comes to Kamala Harris’s floundering, I’ve been hearing shocking gossip. I received this gossip directly from a Washington insider, It will be difficult to confirm until it happens, if it happens.
