Republican students at Washington & Lee University in Virginia have been banned from displaying campaign material in support of GOP gubernatorial candidate Glenn Youngkin, claiming lobbying for a politician violates the private university's policy and threatens its tax-exempt status.During an annual activities fair at the liberal arts school in Lexington on September 12, College Republicans President Lillian Gillespie displayed campaign materials at the club's booth in support of Republican gubernatorial candidate Glenn Youngkin in time for the November 2 elections, the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education reported.

You see, Youngkin is from the wrong party. And who cares about the firs amendment? A little censorship here, get scolded after the election, and keep on going.
Democrats always enforce laws on republicans and deny republicans protection under the law.
Its past time for revolution.

It's a lie, anyone can hand out fliers anywhere they can legally be.
Possibly there might be private property ways that they can stop this.

I scanned thru the article. The college democrats are likewise enjoined from distributing materials. The same email with the policy was sent to both organizations.
The headline is intended to stir up republicans.

Imagine there being a school in the New Dominion named in honor of George Washington, who owned more than 300 slaves. Won't be long before old George gets his turn; another casualty of our Great Leap Forward.

#2 - you left out how the Republicans are more than happy to let them get away with it.
They don’t want to win or be in charge. They just want to have their snout in the gravy train

Daughter just got a “Come to W&L University” flyer. They are so ashamed of the great men they are named after they try to hide it. Screw anyone with an “identity disorder”. Figure it out!

If they accept even $1 in federal funds either through grants or federal financial aid, then they cannot restrict student’s political activity.

"... claiming lobbying for a politician violates the private university's policy and threatens its tax-exempt status."
Perhaps the former, but not the latter. The supposed threat to tax-exempt status applies to those who are employed by the university, not those who attend it. Political speech by the latter is actually PROTECTED, not prohibited.

Sounds like they are confusing their ability to advocate for any particular candidate, but individuals should have that first amendment right.
After all, if you want to question a tax-exempt status, those 300 black churches who broadcast the video from Kamala Harris recommending they vote for her friend, Terry, looks to be a clear violation.

Nobody's confused here; the administrators know exactly what they're doing. We are being ruled by the minority. Had enough?

Did the W&L Administration allow on-campus promotions for The HairSniffer a year ago?
Anyone know?
Chip in!
By the way, I graduated from THE University named after "W", in DeeCee, back in the day.
I grew up in northern Virginia back when it was farm country, but I left when it started getting too paved over.
I've lived happily on the Mississippi Gulf Coast for the last 40 years.
