One of the wonders of the modern age is that fossil fuel allows us to avoid freezing in the winter and overheating in the summer. Climate change fanatics, however, who ignore that the Earth's climate has cycled endlessly between hot and cold for billions of years, desperately want to return us to a pre-modern state. Their efforts are paying off, for the U.S. government is warning of a 54% increase in winter heating bills.
Upon entering the Oval Office, Biden immediately shut down the Keystone Pipeline and ended new drilling on federal lands. While Trump had brought America to energy independence and affordable energy, Biden reduced America to

Two years ago, we had plenty of cheap energy. Plenty of fairly inexpensive food, plenty of household supplies and goods, great selections of pretty much anything you could possibly what to purchase at stores or online purchases. Today, thanks to actions directly related to Joe Biden / Democrat policies and "values", we have less but more expensive energy. Less but much more expensive food. Less but much more expensive household supplies and goods. Poor selection and many empty store shelves and months long wait times for many online orders (which used to arrive overnight). I feel like we have moved from modern America to 1960-70 Eastern Block Communist European nations with empty shelves and rationing. Is that the model Democrats want for the USA?

Get ready for blackouts brownouts and other disruptions of basic human needs. I foresee gasoline shortages, water shortages and a host of other stuff the way things are going.

I spent 3 brutal winters behind the Iron Curtain in a country whose dictator cut off the gas and oil grid. His country was rich in oil and he exported it for hard currency rather than let his own people have access to it. In our apartment it was warmer inside the refrigerator than it was in any of the rooms. We slept in down coats and wool hats. There is nothing more miserable than not being able to get warm. We also had no hot water and no gas on our stove.
If you have any leftist friends and they complain about the increase in prices just tell them, “Let’s go, Brandon”!

Guess Jeff Bezos no longer needs the money from goods, which is why Amazon is pivoting into private pay health care for all the people who will be getting sick.

Also think about who are the most vulnerable to injury and death because of cold--the very young, the very old, and the sick. Our depopulationist commies want them gone too.

What were we ever thinking? Snot Nose lefties should never have had to endure a booming economy, with low gas prices, robust employment, a secure border, AND a big-mouth business wise-guy President.
Sorry about that. I'm sure you're all much happier now that Amerika is a Marxist State.

#5, I have friends in Ukraine.....roughly the same story today, although their gas comes from Russia, and it is Putin cutting it off to control the country.
In soviet countries, there is usually a odd chrome 'towel rack' in the bathroom, a zig-zag affair with three or four horizontal runs, all one curvy piece of pipe. This is actually a heater, heated from a central heating source to keep the pipes from freezing, even if the apartment heat is off. My friends often spend time in the bathroom, since this small amount of free heat makes it warmer than the rest of the apartment with the gas heat turned off.

When you read Sowell's "Conflict of Vision" it explains the disconnect between policies designed "for the People" and the wreckage they cause for those people. The truth is, the Left views the People as a solitary entity and have no compassion or caring for any individuals. There are actual quotes from people who put these theories into practice to help the People stating they hate the people who the are helping.

The wide open southern boarder, rout from Afghanistan, destruction of energy independence, and $5 trillion spending bills for new extreme left programs all are destructive policies. Biden and his administration have done more harm to our country in nine months than any other President has done in four years in office. Pray that the Republicans run wise and moral people for office come 2022. It will probably take a decade to correct this mess.

I spent the hot and humid East Texas summer cutting and splitting oak cord wood. The rural area that I chose to live in often suffers lengthy power outages, given the extreme weather that pre-dates European civilization efforts in Texas, so aside from having a generator, I built a fireplace large enough to heat most of my home's ground floor and to cook in, if need be. Like last winter, I'm afraid I'll exceed my carbon allotment again but I'll not willingly freeze to satisfy the democrat's pagan religion known as "climate change." As a geologist, I've seen the fossil record's evidence of over 500 million years of extreme climate change, including several north-south pole flip-flops, none of which was associated with internal combustion engines or natural gas heaters and stoves. In fact, it was man's exploitation of minerals that enabled the free time to create things like art, medicine, and smart phones.

For those who can, invest in electric space heaters. I picked one up several years ago at a garage sale. It is completely quiet and heats up my bedroom quite nicely at night. Have saved thousands on gas heating bills over the years.
