Last night, Democrat Terry McAuliffe and Republican Glenn Youngkin debated again as part of the race to be the next governor of Virginia. Just a few months ago, McAuliffe was seen as a shoo-in, but Youngkin has exploded the last month, taking the lead in one poll of likely voters and remaining in striking distance in others. Any shift in turnout toward Republicans could deliver the biggest election surprise in a while, possibly since Trump’s win in 2016, though, obviously not as impactful.During the debate, typical positions were staked out, but when the topic of what’s being taught in schools came up, McAuliffe made an enormous blunder.

Who wants to bet that the 'northern' counties stop counting votes for some unknown reason and all of a sudden McAuliffe has enough votes to win??

I saw this! It was one of those, "Wow, they actually said the truth out loud." moments.
"I don't think parents should be telling schools what they should teach."
There ya go folks. Now extrapolate that for all of life. The government wants your kids.. mind, body, and soul. Get them out of public schools!

If Virginians vote for this Piece of Feces they deserve what they get.
Parents should have the right to tell school what they should not teach. CRT being one of those things.

Yes, but the Virginians who do not vote for him do not deserve him.

It's the belief of progressives that you can use "experts" as the cover and rationale to convince you they know what's best.
For years the teachers unions have pushed the idea, "we're the experts, we know what's best", and most parents have been too busy to question it in any large numbers.
But now, millions have been exposed, due to online learning (which mostly didn't have any positive effect), to what their children are being taught.

That debate - - like all other debates on education - - completely misses the point.
The real question is - - should any government at any level be involved with education? And the correct answer is a resounding NO!
Education is none of the government's business. If parents or guardians want children to be educated - - let them choose where and how that education takes place - - AND - - let them pay for it.
The whole notion of government owning, operating, or subsidizing education is obnoxious and sickening - - and we see the results with our own eyes every day. I'll support any candidate who stands up and says, "No more government involvement in education!"

McAuliffe is a shoo-in for governor after this statement. Virginia voters (like California voters) are incredibly stupid.

No #9 they are not stupid. If you take Fairfax, Prince William, Loudon and Arlington counties and give them to Maryland, Virginia is pretty conservative.

Is anybody shocked. We're talking about a Clinton lapdog here. This guy used to shine Bill Clinton's shoes. For years he carried Hillary's purse. I guess the voters in Virginia loved to be abused. Looking at what Biden has done to our country and if you have children in school, you have to be a pathetic hypocrite to still be a democrat.

Anybody that watched the Virginia vote count on the night of Nov 3rd knows that Terry is not worried. With 98% of the vote counted Trump had an insurmountable lead, yet all of a sudden thousands of votes magically appeared to give Biden the lead.

Oh great. Going to need a lot more dominion machines to change the vote after Masefield screwed things up.
