Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) will reportedly still not support Joe Biden’s $3.5 trillion reconciliation package for the time being, despite the president’s efforts to persuade him, according to Axios.
On Wednesday, sources told Axios that President Joe Biden reportedly hosted Manchin for a meeting at the White House where he failed to persuade the senator into agreeing with the $3.5 trillion bill.
Axios was told Biden explained to Manchin his opposition could imperil the $1.2 trillion bipartisan infrastructure bill that’s already passed the Senate. Biden’s analysis did little to persuade Manchin to raise his top line.
Manchin held his position and appears willing to let the bipartisan bill hang in the balance

Let's hope that Manchin has better scruples and sticks to his guns better than some RINOS will when the pressure, polls, and media attention starts to get ugly.

If this is the typical Manchin, he's angling for the biggest payoff ever. The question is, why isn't Xiden just giving it to him? Not like whatever he wants would be anything more than a drop in the bucket anyway, and it wouldn't be coming out of Xiden's pocket anyway.
Can't figure this one out. Maybe Manchin is demanding something other than a normal payout. I can't believe he found integrity at this late date, and he isn't up for re-election until 2024 so he can't be worried about that yet. Something very odd about this hold out.

Good news.
I had lunch with an old friend of over 40 years today, and he mentioned how precarious things are when we are counting on a pair like Manchin and Sinema as our final bulwark against Dem destruction. A flimsy bulwark, but it is all we have.

Yep, #5. It’s a shame what democrats have become. I don’t have faith in Manchin or Sinema.
#6, Another worthy comment. Unfortunately, we can’t even count on our own to stop this travesty because they certainly do not represent most Republicans. Other than being contrarians, they have zero worth.

Manchin is corrupt, but they don't really need him. The deep state can simply call on a couple of blackmailed RINOS and let Joe appear to have ethics for his WV constituency.

By supporting Biden's pork bill, Manchin ends his career. Easy enough choice. Unless of course Biden makes the retirement package big enough. Green energy would kill West Virginia's coal, gas and oil industry and, other than tourism, that's all they've got.

They say as dementia patients become more and more senile, they revert back to childhood behaviors, and word on the street is that during his phone call with Manchin, Old Demented threw a foul-mouthed tantrum like a kid in a grocery store checkout line whose mommy refused to buy him a candy bar.

The truly amazing part is that Manchin is THE ONLY DEMOCRAT OPPOSING THE DESTRUCTION OF OUR COUNTRY. Every democrat is a pure scum communist anti-American hypocrite. Think about that. These people have sacrificed the souls of their own children for their nazi party, for the cause. Absolutely PATHETIC..

No one should trust Manchin. But he does care far more about his re.election than he does the Democrat agenda.

Poster # 8 is correct. Manchin was reelected with 49% of the vote in a three way race. Trump carried West Virginia with 68% and with every county in the state was red. Manchin has no wiggle room about voting with the radical left or he will become persona non grata in the Mountain State.
Poster # 9: Manchin is up for reelection in 2024, not 2022.
