A Texas hospital system imposed "new restriction criteria" on the use of ivermectin, excluding the anti-parasitic agent from treatment of COVID-19. St. Luke's Health will only allow its infectious disease physicians to use the drug for preventive treatment of strongyloidiasis, a roundworm infection, according to a Sept. 2 directive shared with Just the News. Its wording suggests that non-infectious disease physicians had been considering or actually prescribing ivermectin for COVID patients. The relatively cheap treatment has been promoted by an eclectic group of influencers. Evolutionary biologist and former Evergreen State College professor Bret Weinstein has regularly touted ivermectin on his DarkHorse podcast, which led YouTube to demonetize his channel.

House Democrats unveiled their plan to legalize millions of illegal immigrants—and to make taxpayers pay billions of dollars to process their applications. Rep. Jerrold Nadler’s proposal, released late Friday, calls for $2.8 billion in federal funds to go to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services to help the agency build capacity to handle the surge of paperwork and decision-making expected. USCIS is currently almost entirely fee-funded, under the theory that immigrants should pay their own way. Mr. Nadler’s proposal would subvert that model. The new plan would also kick in the amnesty by May 1, 2022, giving USCIS little time to get up and running.

Much to his credit, traditionally left-wing comedian Bill Maher clearly sees where the mainstream left’s obsession with race is leading America: toward segregation. On the latest edition this Friday of his weekly HBO talk show “Real Time,” he raised concerns about how, in the name of so-called “social justice” and “equity,” the left is dividing society into groups based on their immutable traits. This growing illiberal tendency among the left is, in fact, one of the chief reasons why Maher has been going in so hard on his own political side as of late.“To me, when people say to me sometimes like, ‘Boy, you know, you go after the left

Under France's rules, unvaccinated travelers from either country will still be allowed in provided they have an essential reason for travel, however they'll need a negative Covid-19 test before travel and must quarantine for seven days on arrival. France's move follow restrictions imposed on US travelers from several other European destinations. Earlier this week, Spain changed its entry policy for arrivals from the US, requiring them to have a certificate proving double vaccination.

Biden ultimately completed his botched withdrawal from Afghanistan on August 30, but not without leaving an unknown number of American citizens behind. It was recently reported that Biden was planning to visit all three major 9/11 sites on the anniversary (Ground Zero in New York City, the Pentagon in Virginia, and Shanksville, Pennsylvania), but according to a report from CNN, Biden will not be making any public remarks.
