White House press secretary Jen Psaki said Monday that it was not the Biden administration’s intention to arm the Taliban with billions of dollars in military equipment originally given to the Afghan government but claimed that the United States is taking steps to “reduce the amount of equipment” in the Taliban’s possession before completing the troop withdrawal at the end of the month. Psaki, fielding questions at Monday’s White House press briefing, declined to “get into details” of how specifically U.S. forces are carrying out the equipment destruction or recovery but assured reporters “that is part of their effort.”

"The Five" speculated about Vice President Kamala Harris' whereabouts Wednesday, with co-host Will Cain suggesting she was "used" on the Biden presidential ticket, but is now a liability to the administration. "If I’m Kamala Harris right now, I’m extremely offended because you have been used," he said. "They used you to pander to a voting base to get votes. They had a minority, they had a woman and now that they don’t need her, they have shelved her because her approval rating is -19."

Impeachment of President Joe Biden and use of the 25th Amendment are available options for Congress in response to the killing of U.S. military personnel in suicide bombing attacks in Kabul, Afghanistan, Rep. Roger Williams (R-TX) said on SiriusXM’s Breitbart News Sunday with host Joel Pollak. “It’s certainly grounds for [Biden] to be to be removed from office,” Williams remarked. “He should resign if he truly loves this country and sees that this is a disaster of epic proportions. When we lost those [14] young men and women the other day, it was about as low as America has gotten in our history.”

Both were among the strongest storms on record to make landfall in Louisana. According to CNN, about half a million people were without power in the region. On Saturday, state and federal officials worked to get evacuation orders signed and emergency declarations in order. Sporting events and casinos were closed or postponed for the weekend. California gubernatorial candidate Larry Elder explained on "Sunday Morning Futures" why he believes embattled Gov. Gavin Newsom "will be out of here" by September 14. Elder slammed the governor on Sunday for the surge in crime and homelessness in the state as well as the coronavirus shutdowns, which he argued led to a third of all California small businesses shutting down for good. Elder made the comments as ballots are being sent to voters for California’s gubernatorial recall election of Newsom. In some counties, ballot drop boxes are already open and some election offices are available for early voting, ahead of the Sept. 14 contest.

The 13 U.S. service personnel killed during a suicide bombing at Afghanistan’s Kabul airport on Thursday represent a cross-section of Americans, all with compelling stories. The remains of the 13 US troops killed in an ISIS-K suicide blast are currently the Dover Air Force Base for dignified transfer, according to the Pentagon. The Pentagon declined to confirm whether President Joe Biden would attend the dignified transfer at the base in Delaware, his home state, which is the domestic intake point for US military fatalities abroad.

The United States launched an airstrike following a suicide bombing at Kabul airport earlier this week. The target of the drone strike, believed to have been killed with no known civilian causalities, was an ISIS-K fighter believed to be involved in the planning future attacks, according to two U.S. defense officials. The US military says it has killed an ISIS-K planner in the Nangarhar Province of Afghanistan. According to the US officials, the target was planning to attack US officials in Kabul airport. A UAV took off from an unnamed base in the Middle East and reportedly hit the target while he was in a car with another associate.

Ivermectin, often used as a deworming agent in animals and sometimes for humans, is not approved to treat COVID-19 and has not been shown to work for that purpose. Poison control centers have recorded a five-fold increase in calls related to ivermectin, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Milley made the comment—offering no elaboration—during a Pentagon briefing alongside Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin in response to a question about what communication between US military officials and Taliban leaders during the evacuation of Afghanistan meant for the relationship between the two and “the possibility of any kind of coordination in counter-terrorism operations against ISIS-K in Afghanistan.” Austin responded first, saying that “we were working with the Taliban on a very narrow set of issues,
