One House Democrat has revealed top U.S. diplomatic and military officials have suggested completing evacuations from Kabul’s chief airport by the August 31 deadline could be too tall a task. The Hill reports: “There has been and remains an overwhelming bipartisan consensus that this cannot be done by August 31,” Rep. Tom Malinowski (D-N.J.), a member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee who served as a senior State Department official during the Obama administration, said following a classified briefing for House lawmakers. (snip) Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and General Mark Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, indicated the Aug. 31 deadline was unrealistic.

Irrelevant now, since the military is reportedly already packing up and getting ready to bug out. Xiden is abandoning thousands of Americans. Some might even have been your constituents, Congresspuke.

Milley, Austin and Blinken could have stopped this tragedy in its tracks by walking into the oval office and stating they would resign if Xiden continued his fatally withdrawal plan. They can't absolve themselves now. It's way too late. Their hubris is a major contributor to this horrible mess.

If all the American troops are going to be out of the Kabul Airport by August 31, that retreat must start immediately, and when that happens and as US and NATO troops at the Airport start leaving, the perimeter at the Airport will shrink exponentially making it more and more dangerous for the remaining troops before they finally leave. That’s just common sense.

A little late for Austin and Miller to throw their two cents in. Their time to complain about the planning was before they allowed the closing of Bagram Airbase and the withdrawal of forces before evacuating US citizens, Afghan allies, and others who were promised safe passage.

(Video) Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla on Tuesday said the company believes a COVID-19 vaccine-resistant variant will likely one day emerge, though the company has a system in place to turn around a variant-specific jab within some three months. "Every time that the variant appears in the world, our scientists are getting their hands around it," Bourla told Fox News’ "America’s Newsroom." "They are researching to see if this variant can escape the protection of our vaccine. We haven’t identified any yet but we believe that it is likely that one day, one of them will emerge."

WASHINGTON — The Supreme Court on Tuesday refused to block a ruling from a federal judge in Texas requiring the Biden administration to reinstate a Trump-era immigration program that forces asylum seekers arriving at the southwestern border to await approval in Mexico. The court’s brief unsigned order said that the administration had appeared to act arbitrarily and capriciously in rescinding the program, citing a decision last year refusing to let the Trump administration rescind the Obama-era program protecting the young immigrants known as dreamers.

Two top Republicans on the House Oversight Committee are requesting the U.S. Department of Defense explain its plans to prevent billions of dollars worth of U.S. weapons from being used by the Taliban. “As a direct result of the Biden Administration’s poorly planned and executed U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan, the Taliban is now armed with a significant arsenal of U.S.-made weaponry. Worse, it would appear the Biden Administration has no clue what or how many weapon platforms are now owned and operated by the Taliban,” the GOP lawmakers wrote in a letter to Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin.
