The “lowlife” thief charged with stealing a then-6-year-old Brooklyn boy’s scooter was ordered held on $50,000 bail Tuesday—while his lawyer took a cheap shot at the young victim. “I don’t know why a 7-year-old is on an electric scooter,” Brooklyn Public Defenders attorney Sarah Burleson, who represents accused scooter thief Daniel Ufares, griped at his arraignment. Ufares, 59, was charged with second-degree attempted robbery, third-degree robbery, fourth-degree grand larceny, petty larceny, and menacing in the callous July 7 crime.(Snip)Brooklyn prosecutor Wilfred Cotto wanted Ufares held on $100,000 bail at his arraignment Tuesday, saying he “is a repeat offender

The criminals idiot attorney is asking the wrong question ("I don't know why a 7 year old is on an electric scooter?"). What she should be asking is "Why does a 59 year old need an electric scooter and need to steal it from a 7 year old"? The little jabs at the victim did nothing to advance the case and only showed the criminal defense attorney as a heartless shrew.

It's immaterial why a 6-7 year old is on an electric scooter. What IS material is why her client stole it, how he stole it where he stole it, when he stole it. I guess the public defender is trying to say that a child with an electric scooter has too much privilege? Or too much temptation for a dirtbag thief?

The low life attorney"s question is valid within a certain context, that being that why would a self-respecting 7 year old boy have anything less than a 100cc gas engine on said scooter? I'd give him a pass on that since it's not his fault he lives in Brooklyn.

President Biden on Wednesday spoke to a half-empty auditorium while doing a live CNN “town hall” event in Ohio. The more than dozen empty rows weren’t apparent to television viewers thanks to flattering shots that appeared to show a full, non-distanced crowd packing the front rows—in a striking visual display of normalcy after more than a year of COVID-19 restrictions.(Snip) “The audience for the @CNN@POTUS ‘town hall’ is all seated in forward rows. Lawmakers from the Senate Appropriations Defense subcommittee questioned both the Navy and the Air Force on their divestment decisions at a hearing as Congress continues to parse the proposed budget for 2022. “The challenge that we’re facing now is that the good ideas, the things that we don’t think we need to bring to the future fight, we’re starting to run out of that,” said Deputy Chief of Naval Operations for Integration of Capabilities and Resources Vice Adm.
