The non-profit held $527 million in city homeless service contracts

Five people were arrested after a group of protesters stormed a Burger King in New York on Monday night to protest the city’s COVID-19 vaccine mandates. The mask-less protesters were filmed screaming at employees for refusing to serve them at the fast food restaurant in downtown Brooklyn around 7:30 p.m. Cops said they were called in after the group repeatedly refused to leave. The Big Apple’s vaccine mandate requires people to show proof of vaccination in order to eat indoors. Mitchell Bosch, 41, who was one of the five people taken into custody at Burger King, has already been arrested twice this month during protests at a Cheesecake

In Beverly Hills, even the purchase of a firearm comes with certain…expectations. The city’s only gun store, Beverly Hills Guns, is a “concierge service” by appointment only, for a largely affluent clientele. And business is booming. Since opening in July 2020, the store has seen upscale residents from Santa Monica to the Hollywood Hills increasingly in a panic following several high-profile smash-and-grab and violent home invasion robberies. The apparent siege has brought in a daily stream of anxious business owners and prominent actors, real estate moguls and film execs, says owner Russell Stuart.(Snip)“Everyone has a general sense of constant fear, which is very sad.

“Let’s Go Brandon”-themed stickers have spread from America’s roadways to NASCAR’s—thanks to “Brandon” himself. Brandon Brown acquired a new sponsor Thursday, one that took its very name from the chant based on the driver’s name but aimed at President Biden.
The cryptocurrency company LGBcoin—the self-styled “America’s Coin”—will be the Brown team’s full season primary partner for the 2022 NASCAR Xfinity Series. “We are proud to support Brandon this season, to help him continue his American dream. If we do our job right, when you think of us, and you hear, ‘Let’s Go Brandon,’ you’ll think and feel, ‘Let’s Go America,’” James Koutoulas, founder of Typhoon Capital

There are bigger dangers on the high seas than the Bermuda Triangle.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention warned the public Thursday to stay off cruise ships—even if they’re vaccinated—because of the COVID-19 threat. “Avoid cruise travel, regardless of vaccination status,” the agency said in its new guidelines. “Even fully vaccinated travelers may be at risk for getting and spreading COVID-19 variants.” The CDC moved cruise ship travel from a Level 3 “high” warning to Level 4, the highest risk. The change “reflects increases in cases onboard cruise ships since identification of the Omicron variant,” it said. People who go on a cruise despite the warnings

Mayor-elect Eric Adams plans to make a decision this spring on whether to mandate vaccines for New York City public school students starting in fall 2022, according to a newly released outline of his COVID-19 policies. Adams’ one-page plan also states that he will keep Mayor Bill de Blasio’s private-sector vaccine mandate that took effect Monday with a “focus on compliance, not punishment”—an approach similar to the outgoing mayor’s promise that city inspectors will “ideally avoid penalties.”(Snip)The next mayor had previously not expressed a definitive stance on the policy.(Snip)The plan notes that “all other current mandates” that de Blasio put in place

The Biden administration struck a $137 million deal to build a new factory in the U.S. to ramp up production of COVID-19 testing kits–but the new facility won't be completed until late 2024 at the earliest. MilliporeSigma, a brand formed by Germany’s Merck KGaA, will build a new factory in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, the Defense Department announced as the U.S. hit a high record of 489,267 COVID cases on Wednesday. While the contract gives the company three years to complete the facility, it is not immediately clear when it will ramp up to full production, which is expected to pump out 83.3 million tests per month.

Just as House Speaker Nancy Pelosi pushed back on the idea that lawmakers should not be able to make individual stock trades while in office, her husband Paul bought shares in Google's parent company Alphabet, Disney and Salesforce worth millions.
'We're a free market economy,' Pelosi told reporters during a news conference on Dec. 15. 'They [lawmakers] should be able to participate in that.'(Snip)Paul Pelosi has proven himself a prolific stock trader, so much so that social investing app Iris allows users to track their trades and be notified every time he makes a purchase so that they can do the same.

One of the biggest scandals in american history (the latest in a series by this same agency, matter of fact, from the fake dossier to the capitol insurrection, all aimed at undermining President Trump) and the US media has little interest in reporting it. Strange.
