Navy warns it’s running out of
capabilities to cut, budget

The Navy warned Congress today that it is quickly reaching the end of the line on divestments before cutting into capabilities needed for deterrence and war fighting. Lawmakers from the Senate Appropriations Defense subcommittee questioned both the Navy and the Air Force on their divestment decisions at a hearing as Congress continues to parse the proposed budget for 2022. “The challenge that we’re facing now is that the good ideas, the things that we don’t think we need to bring to the future fight, we’re starting to run out of that,” said Deputy Chief of Naval Operations for Integration of Capabilities and Resources Vice Adm. Randy Crites.

Deterrence and war fighting? I thought the goal of the Navy was to recruit and promote transgender sailors, and to combat homophobia and the idea that White people are anything but bad.

And now we turn to our allies and ask them...what are you contributing to your and our mutual defense? And the answer will be stammered...uh, well, yes, um... The US policy makers want boots on the ground, ships in the waters and planes/missiles in the air around the world. But they won't explain why we spent trillions and failed to build a cohesive political situation in Afghanistan and Iraq. They have difficulty explaining why Americans are protecting potentates and despots. And, finally, whether American borders are not their duty to enforce, our sovereignty to protect. Just send them the billions they so badly need...

As a Navy brat until age 15, this saddens me deeply to learn this situation. Partly, this is the "hate the country, hate the military" mantra of the sixties coming to fruition. I love life dearly a greet each day with renewed outlook for being granted another. But then sometimes I am glad to be closer to the end of the trail than the beginning. God bless America and the Navy.

When I was in the Navy, during the Reagan years, our fleet was just shy of his 600 ship goal. Today, we are at 290. The Chinese fleet is larger than the US fleet. Although their Bluewater navy is half of ours. The Chineese can't project power globally like we can, but we would be hard pressed to defeat their navy in their own waters.

IRT to comment that even though the chinese navy is bigger than ours, it doesn't have blue water projection like we do, The Chinese DONT NEED bluewater projection to foil the US Navy . Everything important over there is happening within the nearby island chains which are easily reached by the PLA Navy.

Maybe save that money you spent on nice looking pregnant uniforms for females and time seeking white people with thoughts of racism every where you look. Time wasted with money spent on nothing that's your problem. At this point I really don't care because the military with woke leadership with dumb ideas brought this on themselves. The US Navy could start by giving their Women navigating lessons on how to avoid colliding with merchant ships. The top Admiral should look in the mirror and realize he is White while his superior Idi Amin is minority. Also, the Navy should follow Donaldus Magnus advice and use steam catapults in the unfinished Gerald Ford carrier.

A federal judge blocked a West Virginia law banning transgender athletes from competing in girls sports, saying the legislation likely runs afoul of the Constitution. Judge Joseph R. Goodwin, a Clinton appointee, said if West Virginia wants to treat people differently, there must be a compelling reason to do so. “I have been provided with scant evidence that this law addresses any problem at all, let alone an important problem,” the judge wrote in a 15-page opinion. West Virginia Gov. Jim Justice, a Republican, signed the Save Women’s Sports bill in April. The legislation requires the state’s public schools to allow biological females only to compete in girls sports.
