An NYPD cop on patrol in Brooklyn had his head split open when a tie-dye-wearing thug—who’s done time for assaulting officers in the past—smashed a bottle over his head, according to new video. The sickening display of police hatred was captured on the officer’s body camera just after 4:45 a.m. Sunday as the cop smoked a cigarette next to his patrol car at East 51st Street and Church Avenue in East Flatbush. The video, which does not have audio, shows the suspect, identified by police sources as Tyshaun Holloway, 27, walk up to the cop and the two exchange words.

Denying Republicans a quorum to enact voting restrictions will cost Texas Democrats north of $1 million, according to the state legislator leading the fundraising effort. More than 50 Democratic members of the state House fled Austin for Washington, D.C., last Monday, paralyzing the House just as the GOP was advancing sweeping changes in elections during a special session. Under the Texas Constitution, the Legislature requires a quorum of two-thirds of lawmakers to be present to conduct state business in either chamber. The price of keeping the Democrats out of Texas through Aug. 7, when the session expires, is expected to be around $1.5 million,

Rep. Vern Buchanan said Monday he tested positive for COVID-19 despite being vaccinated and is self-isolating at home in Florida with mild symptoms.
The Republican lawmaker decided to get tested after he felt flu-like symptoms. “I look forward to returning to work as soon as possible,” Mr. Buchanan said. “In the meantime, this should serve as a reminder that although the vaccines provide a very high degree of protection, we must remain vigilant in the fight against COVID-19.” The congressman is among people who say they’ve gotten the shots but still tested positive. For instance, members of the New York Yankees recently reported

China’s Ministry of State Security (MSS) intelligence service was behind a major international cyberattack involving tens of thousands of computers penetrated through security flaws in Microsoft software, according to a senior Biden administration official. Beijing also employed contract Chinese hackers to carry out ransomware attacks in financial crime schemes, the official told reporters in a briefing Sunday night. “MSS is using, knowledgeably, criminal contract hackers to conduct unsanctioned cyber operations globally,” the official said. “That is very much with the Ministry of State Security’s knowledge.”(Snip)Cybersecurity analysts say most Chinese cyber operations, including the Microsoft Exchange Server attacks, involve theft of data that is being used

Comments:
Pfizer said all along that they anticipated billions of dollars a year in additional revenue from booster vaccines, along the lines of flu shots. Not because the vaccine does not work, but because "a new variant" is always waiting around the bend. The fatalities and the side effects are of no concern to the manufacturers, as they bear no liability.
