Any report compiled by special counsel John Durham "may not be as broad as we want it to be," warned a leading Republican congressman, who nevertheless expects more prosecutions. Rep. Devin Nunes, the ranking member on the House Intelligence Committee, made the observation as he assessed what remains to be seen of the inquiry into the origins and conduct of the Russia investigation. The long duration of the special counsel investigation has frustrated former President Donald Trump, who often asks about Durham's progress.

Durham has made it official - - he will no longer attempt to break the course record at Mike & Millie's Mini-Golf in Guilford, CT. "I still love miniature golf - - but I no longer have world-class skills," said Durham. If there were a Miniature Golf Hall Of Fame - - John Durham would be a charter member. He's that good.

That's true, OP, but I do hear that Durham has had the time (and, mysteriously, the budget) to up his game at blackjack, and has been known to drop up to $10K on any given week night at Harrah's in Atlantic City.

Schiff for brains saw undeniable proof and now Nunes believes Durham's efforts will result in people going to prison. One was proved to be a lie and the other has so far been based on nothing but supposition. Until we see hard results with our own lying eyes, they're all blowing smoke.

Another awful chopped up article from the Washington Examiner. Whatever happened to straightforward reporting published in a readable format? They have managed to turn Byron York’s column into a hot mess - I skip it now - and are doing the same with articles like this one. Thhe point? Nunes has never been a feel good pollyanna type. so maybe he knows that Durham is still plugging away. Nunes is also not given to going out on limbs. Pretty solid guy.

Republicans warned they are not ready to back a $1 trillion infrastructure package Democrats hope to consider next week because they are skeptical of how the government would pay for the plan without adding to the nation’s staggering debt. “I don’t see any way possible that this is on the floor next week,” Senate Minority Whip John Thune, a South Dakota Republican, said after meeting with GOP lawmakers. Majority Leader Chuck Schumer outlined an ambitious summer legislative schedule on Monday that would include passing both the bipartisan infrastructure bill as well as a Democratic budget resolution that would unlock consideration of a much larger spending package.

In the letter, the lawmakers call on the NSA to provide them with information about allegations that the agency was spying on Carlson in regards to communication with U.S.-based Kremlin intermediaries pertaining to a potential interview with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Axios reported. Protests erupted yesterday in all of Cuba’s major cities against the nation’s ruling Communist dictatorship following over six decades of oppression. Protesters chanted “freedom,” “enough” and “unite,” and demanded the dissolution of their nation’s communist dictatorship. Protesters had specific complaints about the nation’s food shortages, high prices, and handling of the coronavirus outbreak, which were correctly attributed to their government. The Biden administration was initially silent on the protests, and only commented that they’d vow to condemn any violence in Cuba. Biden himself waited until this morning to say that the U.S. stands with the Cuban people.

WASHINGTON — Two weeks after celebrating America’s near “independence” from the coronavirus, President Joe Biden is confronting the worrying reality of rising cases and deaths — and the limitations of his ability to combat the persistent vaccine hesitance responsible for the summer backslide. Cases of COVID-19 have tripled over the past three weeks, and hospitalizations and deaths are rising among unvaccinated people. While the rates are still sharply down from their January highs, officials are concerned by the reversing trendlines and what they consider needless illness and death. And cases are expected to continue to rise in coming weeks.

ROME — Pope Francis cracked down Friday on the spread of the old Latin Mass, reversing one of Pope Benedict XVI’s signature decisions in a major challenge to traditionalist Catholics who immediately decried it as an attack on the ancient liturgy. Francis reimposed restrictions on celebrating the Latin Mass that Benedict relaxed in 2007. The pontiff said he was taking action because Benedict’s reform had become a source of division in the church and been used as a tool by Catholics opposed to the Second Vatican Council, the 1960s meetings that modernized the liturgy. Francis issued a new law requiring individual bishops to approve celebrations of the old Mass
