Extremely Proud to Be Americans

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- This Fourth of July marks a low point in U.S. patriotism. For the first time in Gallup's 18-year history asking U.S. adults how proud they are to be Americans, fewer than a majority say they are "extremely proud." Currently, 47% describe themselves this way, down from 51% in 2017 and well below the peak of 70% in 2003. (snip) While the 47% who are extremely proud (snip) 25% who say they are "very proud" and 16% who are "moderately proud." That leaves one in 10 who are "only a little" (7%) or "not at all" proud (3%).

Comments:

Those in the 18 to 29 years old, Nonwhite, and College graduate subgroups show the lowest pride. This is to be expected considering the Woke indoctrination in Critical Race Theory, White Privilege, and Systemic Racism propaganda being taught in our school and parroted by the MSM over the last decade. The tragedy is that people are believing it.

The 18-24 crowd is not proud because of what they are learning in colleges, and the rest are not proud of the woke crowd in government, the generals and admirals in the military, the media, sports figures and school boards are saying about America along with the political correctness. It's depressing but all will change when Trump is reinstated (we hope)!

I’m absolutely PROUD to be an American, perhaps now more than ever. And since I am PROUD to be an American , I am embarrassed for my country because of the weak and dishonest leaders we now have in place. I will never give up on Her though. These times will right themselves and PROUD Americans will act and prevail over the evil that is threatening us. We have no choice.

I am proud of my heritage as an American with my family being here before the War of Independence. I am proud of what they did in serving their communities and this country. I am not proud of what this country has become. I am not proud of the leaders, Republicans and Democrats, that have held office for the last 35+ years. I am not proud of our education system, healthcare, media, or Tech Sector. The future of America is NOT bright. Being proud of the past does not win tomorrow's race.

Here's why: They are gullible enough to believe whatever the DemoAcademicMedia complex tells them to believe. How do these Americans know what they don't know about? I've lived and worked (in the private sector) in Asia and Europe and the Caribbean for 15+ years. I KNOW what other countries are like. I KNOW how fortunate we are in this country. I KNOW what it's like to live where you have to report your choice of radio and TV stations to the government. I KNOW what it's like to lose a close friend because no hospital would accept an ambulance transporting a foreigner. I KNOW what it's like to experience "free" healthcare, which means that the hospital hallways are literally jammed with gurneys and patients have to use the wheeled-around "portable facilities" for the world to see if they have to relieve themselves. I KNOW what it's like to need a simple endoscopy and the 1st available date is 15 months out. Unless you have private insurance, in which case it can be done the next day. Believe me, it's really tough for me to see these idiots turning their back on the flag or taking the knee or whatever they're gonna do next. They may be making a point, but it's not the point they think they are making. The rest of the world thinks they are demonstrating just how petty, spoiled and ignorant they are.

In total agreement with # 9. Been to 23 countries and we are the best by a wide margin. The poorest here in American would be rich in other countries. Might I recommend that the snowflakes, metrosexual fops, pajama boys, and Caspar milquetoasts go to other countries to riot, sell drugs, and topple statues. I can guarantee they will not have one Constitutional right, right to an attorney and a speedy trial. Most likely will end up with a long sentence in the cross bar hotel with Bubba as a roommate

There's more than one way to look at this. I'm still proud of my country although it's running on the fumes of what makes me proud. I believe that my country under the control and direction of one of my countries political parties financed a bioweapon and deployed it sacrificing millions of lives worldwide in order to defeat Donald Trump. I'm not proud of that nor am I proud that like "good Germans" we good Americans let this slip out of our hands to such an extent.

Switzerland hasn't had a mass shooting since 2001, when a man stormed the local parliament in Zug, killing 14 people and then himself. The country has about 2 million privately owned guns in a nation of 8.3 million people. In 2016, the country had 47 attempted homicides with firearms. The country's overall murder rate is near zero. The National Rifle Association often points to Switzerland to argue that more rules on gun ownership aren't necessary.

Democrats walked into a political ditch with their plan to let the Internal Revenue Service snoop on American banks accounts, and so far they’re doing a lousy job of scrambling to get out.(snip)The details are murky, but most Americans could still get ensnared in this dragnet unless they pay bills and buy goods in cash. Democrats say banks will only have to report total annual inflows and outflows, not discrete transactions. But nearly all Americans spend more than $10,000 a year. The real political goal here is to create a mechanism for triggering audits—probably through an algorithm—so the IRS can rifle through all of a taxpayer’s business and other financial records.
