Thousands of people descended on London’s Hyde Park on Saturday afternoon in the latest round of protests against Covid lockdown measures. The crowds marched through Oxford Street before gathering at Hyde Park while holding banners, placards and flags. The crowds of protesters (bottom left and bottom centre) marched through Oxford Street, Regent Street, Hyde Park and Northumberland Avenue as they held placards reading ‘freedom is not for trade’, ‘no to Covid vaccine’ and ‘no to the Covid passport’.

It's impossible to overstate what a disappointment Bore Us Johnson has been. We thought he'd be the next Margaret Thatcher - - but he's a craven, spineless, do-nothing jellyfish. What a twit!

Well, Bore Us exhibits the usual "progressive" behavior... but how encouraging to see the citizenry revolt against "ruling" government, as the US did so successfully centuries ago. And now we must do so again!

I wonder if the protests were planned before or after the nation learned that the man behind the draconian covid rules was having an affair with one of his aides. Thanks to Matt Hancock, the Queen was forced to sit alone at her husband's funeral, countless others were not even allowed to attend the funerals of family and friends but the man who made the rules was blatantly breaking them.

Boris was never going to be the next Thatcher - he has always been both an opportunist and a windsock. He will go along with whatever the trend of the moment is. Witness his fawning all over the Xidens. Everyone pushing that narrative about Boris and Trump being kindred spirits were just hopeful at best. There was never any evidence that old Boris wasn't putting on an act.

Exactly #6. People really don’t realize Thatcherism has been wiped out politically. Pick a so-called very conservative elected official in Parliament. He or she does not speak or act anything like Thatcher. Boris was just eccentric and unusual enough that everyone hoped he would be their Trump. I am heartened to see protests but they are just about the continuing loss of personal freedom with lockdowns. The general public seems fine and compliant about the Mayor of London, Matt Hancock, NHS changing stories about covid vaccines and smiling at woke Kate’s charming Pride umbrella the other day. England is much much further down the road to it being totally illegal to do anything other than bow down to every government command. The good citizens of Yorkshire we know are praying for a spiritual awakening because they see God as the only hope.

An order handed down by a Georgia judge today named several individual members of a county elections board as respondents in an election-related lawsuit, clearing the way for an intensive audit of 2020 absentee ballots in Georgia's largest county. Superior Court Judge Brian Amero in a Thursday ruling dismissed several claims brought against governmental entities of Fulton County on sovereign immunity grounds, but he allowed the five members of Fulton County's Board of Registration and Elections to be named in the suit.

It's shameful that it took so long to declare a national holiday to commemorate the end of slavery in the United States. But the nation's first official Juneteenth holiday weekend got off to an inauspicious start, to say the very least. CNN reported gun violence in multiple locations, including my own small town of Granger, Indiana. My teenage son works at the family-owned grocery store in the same little shopping center where five people were shot (one fatally) at a "Juneteenth Summer Bash" party held at a tavern.

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) unloaded on Democrat President Joe Biden in a letter sent to Republican lawmakers on Sunday, warning that the Democrats’ policies were doing significant harm to the country. McCarthy’s letter started off by noting that the Trump administration’s Operation Warp Speed was paying off big time as communities across the country come back to life following the coronavirus pandemic, which killed hundreds of thousands of Americans and devastated the economies of many states.

Did we ever need masks? It’s a touchy, complex question. People may not want to learn that millions of us covered our faces for 15 months for no good reason after all. But asking the questions is exactly what we must do. Last week, a trove of Dr. Anthony Fauci’s emails were released to the public. In a Feb. 5, 2020, email to a Team Obama health official, the virus guru wrote that masks were for infected people, and that “the typical mask you buy in a drug store is not really effective in keeping out the virus, which is small enough to pass through the material.”

America’s first black billionaire, Robert Johnson, is pushing hard for the government to pay $14 trillion in reparations—and he wants his check just like everyone else. “Reparations would require the entire country to… admit that the result of slavery has been 200 years of systemic racism,” the Black Entertainment Television (BET) founder told Vice. “And for that reason, black folks have been denied $13-15 trillion of wealth and therefore we as a country now must atone by paying black people of all stripes—the rich ones, the poor ones, and the middle—out of our pocket,” Johnson told the outlet.

Vogue, the world's fashion bible, has placed Jill Biden on her cover as the epitome of fashion. She's a "goddess," they explain. Which is a stretch, given that the first lady has sported getups like this loud red zebra print dress, or these huge-print patterned pantyhose worn with elfin spike heel ankle boots. It goes to show that its whole schtick is politics, not fashion. After all, the big fashion bible for the world's stylish somehow managed to overlook the nation's truly stylish first lady, Melania Trump, a former super-model, who not only was quite beautiful, but age-appropriate and elegant in her four years as first lady.

Vice President Mike Pence may be in the doghouse with conservatives but no one can say there were stories that he was a bad boss or that his office was chaotic, mismanaged, or incompetent. Things are different with Kamala Harris. According to an article in Politico, Harris’s office sounds like the real-life version of Veep, the HBO political satire that focused on the stupid, self-centered, and vicious Selina Meyer, a Vice President whose office was filled with slavish gatekeepers and self-centered staff, all of whom were incompetent. The story rings true. What's more interesting is contemplating why Democrats are going after Harris.
