A New Zealand woman has become the first transgender athlete to be selected to compete in the Olympics — a decision that is expected to launch debate about gender identity in sports.Weightlifter Laurel Hubbard, 43, who was born male but transitioned to female, was picked to participate in the upcoming summer games in Tokyo, New Zealand Olympic Committee chief Kereyn Smith said in a Monday statement.“We acknowledge that gender identity in sport is a highly sensitive and complex issue requiring a balance between human rights and fairness on the field of play,” Smith said in a statement.
Well, there's another thing ruined by these mentally ill deviants...

New Zealand is much too desperate for a gold medal even a severely tainted one.

The bones and muscles of xy are strong in this weightlifter. Let it compete, give it a participation trophy, or perhaps an award for the strongest xy in an xx competition engraved with “well, isn’t this nice”

This is not a New Zealand woman, or any other kind of woman. He should be ostracized by all of humanity. Damned cheater. Women's sports are finished if the sports authorities don't have any more gumption than to kick men out of women's competitions.

The title should read: "New Zealand weightlifter to be trans athlete to compete in Olympics, but the first was Horst Ratjens, German woman's high jump gold medalist in the 1936 Berlin games, who was disqualified for cheating by disgracefully posing as a woman named Dora.

It all comes back to South Park. Heather Swanson. The MMA fighter who transitioned to being a woman ... and beat the living you know what out of the ladies in every event ... except board games.

Ever notice how no persons born female fight to compete in male sports?
Perhaps this "guys" were never able to cut it athletically, and this is their only chance to win anything.
As Jed Clampett would say, "Pitiful, just pitiful."

This is a middle aged dude with a receding hairline from steroids.
As an aside, I am a middle aged dude who has been active in powerlifting since high school. Quite average, but can place in the top 20 or so in my region.
Anyway, I identified as a woman Sunday (back to myself today) and now hold the woman’s world record in all three big lifts.
Just to put this in perspective.
I’m an average active guy. I could win the woman’s Olympics.

A mediocre male weight lifter, cuts off his crank and becomes a superstar as a woman.
I hope the fool thinks it's worth it.
No matter what happens (and he will probably win) he is still a man with no Johnson, no hope of ever finding a date from either sex, and the rest of his life having to sit down to pee.

When he has his turn at the weights, every true female in the competition should stand on the sidelines together and shout, “Cheater!” repeatedly, the entire time he is there. Distract him and shame him to the point that he drops the weights. And if he does win the gold, they should do the same thing while he is receiving his fraudulent medal.

Since the Olympics has decided to endorse this crap, it will be added to the long list of activities I will no longer support or participate in. The Summer Games always bored me anyway, but we really used to enjoy the Winter Games.
Just one more thing ruined for everybody by an insignificant few.

I never know from these articles if these 'women' have fully committed.....had surgery.
If this occurs and the person is on estrogen treatment, then maybe we can talk. Until then 'she' is still a 'he'.

The caption on the photograph reads...
'New Zealand's Laurel Hubbard lifts in the snatch of the women's +90kg weightlifting final at the 2018 Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast, Australia.'
Read carefully, then try your hand at comedy writing... should be pretty easy.

There is no rule that defines female. Using testosterone levels was thrown out by the international sports court of arbitration years ago. This stuff will finally kill the Olympics.

The first man to pretend to be a woman with the help of the Olympic Committee, is the truth.
The East Germans had men competing as women before, but back in those days, the Olympic Committee tried to keep them out.
Playing along with the 'let's pretend' games of the mentally ill is not a good thing.

TV seems to seek out these bizarre and sad 'men pretending to be women' to put them in front of us, pushing them as "normal".
There's a moderately interesting show "Mysteries of the Abandoned" that has a good number of old abandoned structures around the world to show to the audience. They tend to do the standard 'reality TV' thing of making 10 minutes of material into 20 minutes by endless repetition of their limited footage, and silly 'what could this be?" speculation before finally telling what it was.
However....the key irritation is that one of the four or five typical "commentators" is some ugly guy who is pretending to be a woman. His voice, a VERY irritating "Tiny Tim" (of Tiptoe thru the Tulips brief fame) falsetto, is so irritating that I have to mute it whenever he comes on, and let the (badly done) closed caption fill in the information gap on the item. And seeing an ugly old guy dressed up like a woman is pretty off-putting, too. The first time this person came on screen, my wife and I both said immediately, "That's a guy!"
Now, we just look away, and try to ignore this disgusting interruption of the show. The other commentators are interesting and do a good job, as does the unseen narrator. Fortunately, he is only on a fraction of them, seemingly mostly the WW2 German abandoned ruins. A few of the places are things that we have visited, but many are either extremely hard to travel to, or closed to the public.
