Cori Bush said on Wednesday night that black Americans now need reparations and 'liberation' after the House approved a bill making Juneteenth a federal holiday known as 'National Independence Day'.(Snip) 'It’s Juneteenth AND reparations. It’s Juneteenth AND end police violence + the War on Drugs. It’s Juneteenth AND end housing + education apartheid. It’s Juneteenth AND teach the truth about white supremacy in our country,' she wrote in a tweet Wednesday night. 'Black liberation in its totality must be prioritized,' the Missouri Democrat encouraged. # 6 - I worked for an agency, back in the '80's, that gave out the free cheese, rice, whatever to low income people. Stuff was delivered, we never knew what it would be, and we had days set up for the people to come and pick up the stuff. If one person got something and the other didin't (they didn't always send the same amount of different items) we'd get calls all afternoon wanting to know "where's my rice" or "why didn't I get beans." No one ever said thank you, just where is mine!

We do not need more National Holidays, especially one celebrating a specific group of people and based primarily on LIES; In fact, we need fewer National Holidays. She is nothing more than a Black activist attempting to make HER own policy fantasies National fantasies. I am White, my college roommate was Black, we had No problem living with each other and respecting one another. Of course , he was not an activist. He was in college to get educated, not to be indoctrinated into hating Whites and looking for freebies. He has done very well in life.

I concur, #18. Our sensitive liberals would not risk further angering our muslim friends but if we forget that day we will regret it one day. Shortly after 9/11, I was so appalled that our government did so little to strike back at the animals that brought the towers down, I left a lucrative job, went to the Middle East and carried around an M-249 squad automatic weapon for a time. It made more sense than George Bush dumping millions of dollars worth of good bombs on the mountains of Afghanistan and it gave me what I was looking for.

I sometimes wonder whether Cori Bush even sees most Americans. She talks as though she were locked in a dialogue with some white people much richer and more powerful than she is who have been here a long time. That is a lot of people she just does not see, while she argues with this target group to give her more, and with the US Government to force them to it. I used to teach at a university with a reputation for rich, slick blonde haired girls, but the fact is, there were quite a lot of other people there, not so rich, some students with not enough to eat actually. Cori only sees people who have stuff she longs for. everybody else.... she does not care, she does not see.
