The FBI has launched an investigation into a suspicious package containing a white powder and a threatening letter that was sent to Rand Paul just a day after Richard Marx praised the man who assaulted the senator from Kentucky in 2017.
The package which arrived at Paul's home also contained a doctored image of the Republican who is seen heavily bandaged and walking with the aid of a crutch as a rifle appears aimed at his head.
‘I’ll finish what your neighbor started, you motherf**ker,’ the message on the package reads.
News of the threat was first reported on Monday by Fox News.

Though they rarely practice what they preach, Democrats often pretend that America could be a better place for all if everyone could simply put their differences aside in the name of love, peace, unity, harmony, and all that jazz.Once he made it past the presidential primary campaign, this was more or less Joe Biden’s entire mantra, which his supporters in the mainstream media enthusiastically picked up on and ran with well beyond Election Day.What he (and they) mean, of course, is that they would prefer their political opposition abandon their principles and shut up while the left does all the governing and ruling and making the laws.

That is the virtue of piety, honored in every human culture of which I am aware. When I was a boy, I had a powerful experience of this virtue every year, on Memorial Day. Early in the morning, a parade led by veterans in uniform would proceed up the hill to the Lutheran cemetery near our house. A group of us boys followed them, because we wanted to see and hear the rifles when they fired the 21-gun salute, to honor the men who had served their nation in war. Then, under the tall fir trees and among the gravestones and the smoke, a single veteran with a bugle

Former President Donald Trump angrily rejected reports that social media bans had sent him sliding into irrelevance, insisting Monday that he was staying out of the headlines so attention would stay on President Joe Biden's troubles with inflation, the border and the Middle East. His comments come as his lieutenants plan a new social media platform to propel Trump back into the daily conversation. And a new poll suggests the former president retains his grip on Republicans, with a majority of the party still proclaiming Trump to be the 'true president.'But in a statement published on his website, Trump hit back at media reports

The father of a Minneapolis man shot and killed outside a nightclub, hours before he was due to graduate, has called for an end to the soaring violence in the city - as commemorations are planned for the anniversary of George Floyd's death.Minneapolis, like many big cities in the U.S., has seen its gun crime soar in the past few months as lockdowns end and police numbers fall.Floyd's May 25 murder by police sparked revulsion against officers, and strengthened a movement to cut their funding and reduce their presence. As a result, record numbers of police are taking early retirement in some cities, or simply walking away.

Is President Joe Biden living up to expectations? It’s hard to say, since the expectations generated on his campaign trail were so murky. Biden made plenty of promises on the stump but only one thing was ever clear: he wasn’t Donald Trump. Beyond that, no one was really certain what iteration of Biden would enter the Oval Office on Inauguration Day. A pragmatic moderate or a progressive ideologue? A return-to-normal steady hand or a malarkey-scourging bomb thrower? The law-and-order author of the PATRIOT Act or the ‘Black Lives Matter’ anti-racist he suddenly morphed into last summer?

If these were any other vaccines, they would already be off the market.
In fact, they would have been pulled a long time ago. Usually, a new drug is withdrawn after 50 deaths, which isn't typical because the FDA has a strict approval process. The COVID-19 vaccines have been exempted from it, instead being temporarily "authorized" for emergency use.
These vaccines have coincided with 3,544 American deaths and 12,619 serious injuries as of April 23, according to the CDC's Vaccine Adverse Event Reports System database (VAERS, republished "as is" in user-friendly format here). The flu vaccines by comparison are linked to 20–30 death reports a year,

The Manchurian Candidate movie, based on a novel by Richard Condon, was once denounced by a British critic as a “cheaply paranoid fantasy.” Roger Ebert, reviewing the 1962 movie, acknowledged that it touched a chord despite being unrealistic:
"The title of 'The Manchurian Candidate' has entered everyday speech as shorthand for a brainwashed sleeper…That such programming is impossible has not prevented it from being absorbed as fact."
But if subliminal programming were really impossible, then why did it evoke such a strong reaction in 1962? We’re still gripped by paranoia. Forget the 20th century; hardly a day in 2021 passes without some new denunciation or endorsement

Americans mostly have given up on familiar institutions for entertainment, guidance, or reassurance. What now do Hollywood, network news, the media in general, Silicon Valley, the NBA, NFL, MLB, or higher education all have in common?
A propensity to lecture Americans on their moral inferiorities, a general ethical decline in their own disciplines, and a strange obsession to acquire great wealth while living in contrast to what they advocate for others. Add also incompetence. Movies are mostly bad now. The network news is blow-dried groupthink. There is no “paper of record” anywhere. Twitter and Facebook no longer even try to hide their politicized contortions of warped rules and twisted protocols.

Today is the 80th birthday of Robert Allen Zimmerman of Hibbing, Minn., better known to the world as Bob Dylan. Few American musicians have attracted more praise or influenced more artists than Dylan. He even won a Nobel Prize in Literature for his lyrics. Dylan is loved by some and respected without affection by others, yet, for many, the sound of his voice and the words of his songs produce a reflexive revulsion. Either way, Dylan has always been more complex and interesting than the public image embraced by casual fans and bitter detractors alike.

The reporters pretend to see only one side of the CIA, the passive hiding of information. Americans can’t escape from blue states fast enough. Even before the COVID pandemic, they were fleeing Democrat-led states for red ones in droves.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, between 2010 and 2019, California, New York, New Jersey, Michigan, and Illinois lost a combined four million residents. Meanwhile, the top five states that saw the greatest influx of new residents were the Republican-led states of Florida, Texas, Tennessee, Ohio, and Arizona. It does not hurt that Florida, Texas, and Tennessee also have no income tax.
But the pandemic, in conjunction with disastrous Democrat policies, has only accelerated the blue-state exodus.

Mysteries intrigue the human mind. Things you don’t understand or can’t see. Mysteries draw you in, books, TV shows, real-life, even lingerie. You want to see, to understand. I don’t mean stupid mysteries like algebra. I mean scientific stuff. Our country has just gone through a messy pandemic year full of scary scientific mysteries that government folks were afraid to admit they really didn’t understand [Snip] We may finally be on the verge of solving at least part of the enduring UFO mystery

Carjacking is a dangerous proposition … just ask this man who got trampled by an angry driver, and it’s all on video.
The attempted carjacking went down last year but started trending this morning because the video was released for public use yesterday. In the video you see a black man trying to stop a car by standing in the middle of the road as he pulls out a gun.
The would-be carjacker receives instant karma as the driver of the car hits the gas and sent him flying down the street.
The moment of impact did some heavy damage to the man.

Happy Whit Monday to my Commonwealth cousins throughout the Caribbean and the Pacific, and to our readers in much of Continental Europe. (Snip) Front page news from yesterday's New York Times:
World Is Facing First Long Slide in Its Population
Me in my international bestseller fifteen years ago:
The single most important fact about the early 21st century is the rapid aging of almost every developed nation other than the United States: Canada, Europe and Japan are getting old fast, older than any functioning society has ever been and faster than any has ever aged... These countries – or, more precisely, these people – are going out of business.

Well, this isn’t going to help the corporate media narrative that “insurrectionists” inspired by President Trump’s rhetoric tried to overthrow democracy at the Capitol. Yesterday on ABC’s This Week George Will said, “I would like to see January 6th as burned into the American mind as firmly as 9/11,” and I don’t think he meant as an example of agents provocateurs creating false flag incidents to discredit their political rivals.
But thanks to a court filing that has escaped corporate media notice, we now know that the Justice Department has seized over $60,000 from the bank accounts of John Earle Sullivan, who sold video he took of activities that day

There’s an old saying among economists, demographers, actuaries and sociologists: “Demographics is destiny.” If that’s true, and it certainly appears to be, America could be in very big trouble.
Back in 1970, leftist Stanford biologist Paul Ehrlich warned in his sensationalist book, “The Population Bomb,” that overpopulation would lead to mass starvation and the depletion of our natural resources. As we all know, it didn’t happen.

Joe Biden wants to know what's in your bank account, and he'd like to keep watching.
That's the alarming issue Reason magazine has explored, noting that buried deep within Biden's much-touted tax-hikes-for "infrastructure" American Families Act unveiled last April 28 is a sneaky Democrat plot called the American Families Tax Compliance Agenda. That will force the IRS to hire 87,000 new IRS agents, all of them armed with vast, new and expanded surveillance powers.
Biden tax plan would cull financial data on masses of law-abiding, tax-compliant Americans. In the name of catching tax dodgers, the Biden administration is seeking serious snooping rights to oversee all American bank accounts

Paul Rossi used to work at Grace Church School in lower Manhattan as a math teacher to the city’s privileged children. On the Upper East Side, a former investment banker named Andrew Gutmann used to walk his young daughter past the security guards dressed in red cardigan sweaters onto the elite grounds of Brearley School. Both Rossi and Gutmann had never crossed paths before they wrote their letters excoriating their schools’ embrace of Critical Race Theory, a rebellion that severed their ties with these schools. These two men seemed to have little in common based on outward appearances, yet the names of Rossi and Gutmann will be yoked

As presidential press releases go, this one was very short and enormously consequential. Eleven minutes after Israel declared its independence on May 14, 1948, the White House issued a two-sentence statement. The first said simply, “This Government has been informed that a Jewish state has been proclaimed in Palestine and recognition has been requested by the provisional Government thereof.” The second sentence made history: “The United States recognizes the provisional government as the de facto authority of the State of Israel.” It was signed “Harry Truman.”

Rep. Congressman Madison Cawthorn (R-N.C.) says his honeymoon in Dubai was more important than showing up to vote against trashy bills orchestrated by Democrats in the U.S. House.“If I have a choice between voting with Nancy Pelosi or spending time with my beautiful wife, I’ll chose Cristina every time,” newlywed Cawthorn declared. On Real America’s Voice News, the lawmaker responded to media reports that he has the worst voting record in the first-term class, missing 16.2 percent of votes among that cohort on the floor of the chamber, which is under narrow, but effective, control of the Democrats, and where the minority party — unlike in the Senate —

For anyone doubting whether China has Taiwan in its sights, a warning that the Global Times, a Chinese communist party media outlet, issued to Australia should set those doubts to rest. In response to Australia’s participation in joint military exercises in the East China Sea, China’s propaganda outlet threatened it (snip) the party’s mouthpiece, The Global Times, struck back with crude ferocity: (snip) ‘Australia must not think it can hide from China if it provokes.

Graduation should be a time of celebration. But in Texas, Saturday night was set for an uncomfortable scene. As reported by The College Fix, a group of students planned to walk out of the commencement in protest. The reason for their revolt: the school’s use of 1903-penned song “The Eyes of Texas.”According to opponents of the tune, it’s downright racist.More specifically, it’s anti-black.The folks’ Facebook page laid it out: After years of protesting the usage of “The Eyes of Texas” for its anti-Black racist history and months of concentrated efforts on the part of students and allied faculty to replace the school song,

With illegal migrants crossing the southern border by the hundreds of thousands and setting new records by the month, the Department of Homeland Security’s top priority — somehow — is “domestic violent extremism,” and it doesn’t even mean Antifa.“President Joe Biden’s top appointees have called white supremacists the greatest security threat to the country and are pushing for bolstered intelligence gathering,” the Associated Press reported last week, noting that DHS “plans to ramp up social media tracking as part of an enhanced focus on domestic violent extremism,” for which the department has opened a new office in its intelligence branch.

Two and a half months ago, when Texas Governor Greg Abbott axed the state’s mask mandate and other COVID-related restrictions on businesses and people, Joe Biden called the move a “huge mistake” and “Neanderthal thinking.” Dr. Anthony Fauci, who advises Biden, called it “risky” and “potentially dangerous.” Both were proven wrong when weeks later Texas experienced no surge in cases. A dumbfounded Fauci refused to admit he was wrong and claimed that a spike in cases and deaths would show up as a lagging indicator.

One of the most shocking things about gun-grabbing Democrats is their shocking ignorance about guns, legal gun owners, and gun culture. That ignorance was on display Sunday when David Chiu, a California assemblyman, was walking down the streets of San Francisco and discovered the abandoned packaging for a Glock.
David Chiu put out a panicked tweet (since deleted) (snip) If only Chiu, a multi-credentialed Harvard grad who rose up through the hard left ranks of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors, had paid a little more attention (snip) he would have known that real guns don’t come in little plastic packages with holes cut out to hang on hooks

Several fights broke out among guests Saturday inside Kings Island and in the parking lot, forcing the amusement park to close about 30 minutes early, reports say.
Police officers and troopers with the State Highway Patrol responded to the park because of “unruly guests, primarily juveniles,” WCPO Channel 9 reports. The patrol tells the Cincinnati Enquirer that several fights occurred during the afternoon, with a large fight occurring just before 10 p.m.
It’s unclear how many people were involved in the fights. No arrests were made.
Ryan Smith, who was at the park with his family, tells the Enquirer that it was “insanely crowded.”

In the last twelve months we have been ceaselessly bombarded by claims that America is a racist society in which Black people are oppressed by White people.
This is a truly astonishing claim because nothing could be further from the truth.
You can conduct a quick reality check yourself. Despite their fervent accusations of racism, those who make them have not been able to point to a single racist law, ordinance or practice in the whole of the United States. This holds true across the spectrum: the federal, state and local levels. If the United States were indeed an institutionally racist society, you could surely find at least one law or practice

Awareness ribbons are popular fashion accessories among the elite, particularly Hollywood celebrities. They are meant to show support or raise awareness for a particular cause.
These ribbons are not a modern invention (snip) Awareness ribbons are so yesterday. Today it’s the mask that demonstrates caring, scientific acumen, and virtue. It also represents the political left. Forget driving around with a Biden/Harris bumper sticker on your car. Just wear a mask while driving alone and everyone will know who you voted for.
Masks have become medical theater, pomp and circumstance not to prevent an infectious disease but, instead, a form of virtue signaling

The last load of raw milk left the ranch outside Montana State Prison on Dec. 27, drying up a decades-long run for the prison’s work program that was clipped by a shift in a single company’s global commerce policy.
Last year Darigold, the product brand for a dairy cooperative headquartered in Seattle, canceled its 30-year contract with the prison, forcing the state’s prison work program, Montana Correctional Enterprises, to scale down its dairy operation from 350 head to about 70, enough to produce milk to self-sustain the Department of Correction’s facilities around the state.
Darigold ended its contract after one of its major customers said last year it would
