Well, color me surprised that the California gubernatorial candidate formerly known as Bruce Jenner has a position on biological boys playing girls’ sports that I actually agree with. Jenner has recently announced his candidacy for governor of California and was asked his position on this issue by TMZ.
Bruce Jenner, who now calls himself Caitlyn, was approached by a TMZ reporter in a parking lot.
“Theres’ legislation in various states to ban biological boys who are trans from playing girls sports in schools. What’s your opinion on that?”
“This is a question of fairness, that’s why I oppose biological boys who are trans competing in girls’ sports in school. It just isn’t fair,”

Having Caitlyn running will obviously bring the subject of women's sports and transgenderism front and center. It will be very interesting to see how the voters, consultants, and media deal with that. It's very important to deal with it NOW, before it's completely out of control.

Bruce has a unique perspective.

I may be the slowest human on earth. It's not fair that everyone else is faster and gets to compete in such as the Olympics. I have a handicap, and I demand "equality" and accommodation for my lack of speed.
Let's stop this nonsense. Women and others demand EQUALITY in every sort of "competition", including schools programs, college admissions and jobs. Where they fail they demand concessions, such as military special forces. If a white male is rejected on the basis of race or gender, that's the way it is supposed to be in an EQUAL world. See, that's fairness as defined these days. So, extending EQUALITY to athletics is only right.
The games are open to all comers. Qualify by merit and you're in. The alternative is to extend the same sort of equality to sports and athletics. The NCAA and NFL, for example, required to build rosters of 50% females/female identifiers with heavy recruitment requirements. High schools will have special programs to attract women to sports, build their self-esteem and develop skills by some false equivalence. Men run 100 meters; women 90. That seems fair. Or, add weight to the faster males, like horses in a handicap race. Fair, right?
Did you know that international competition has no standard regarding gender classification? The IOC needs to restore all those medals taken from East European "females" because the court of international sport has ruled that testosterone standards cannot apply, and that athletes with their native genitalia are eligible to compete as another sex if they are transitioning.
Gender defined sports and athletics are NOT EQUALITY in our modern, woke world. Let the games begin.

Bottom line is Bruce Jenner has some serious mental health issues and is not fit to be governor or mayor or in any position in government until he gets the treatment which is available by the way to resolve his issues. He is stating the obvious and for that he is being praised? Get help Bruce and hope you live the rest of your life in peace and happiness. You were a great athlete and competitor.

He is “flagging” the conservative vote. So sad to see him being paraded by Republicans as the token Trans. Ps. The emperor is still naked.

I believe mental illness is a requirement for a California politician. I don’t think Ms. Jenner will be any worse than the others.

Fellow Americans thinking that 39 million Californians are weird… And anyone seriously believes our country can ever be united? 5+ million unweird Republicans. How many where you are?

Jenner is not a rank leftist. He's confused about his sex, but that's the main thing wrong with him.

#9, Good grief! Can you just dial it back a touch? Everything is not a personal attack.
Do you actually think that California, taken as a whole state, is NOT weird?
Certainly I know that huge numbers of nice folks still live there. I was born there. But the sane folks are continuously overwhelmed by the strange, bizarre and weird. Look at the voting. Look at who has run the state in the legislature and the governor's seat for a long time. Look who represents the state in the Senate and most of the MANY House members.
Certainly there are some WONDERFUL Calfornians, and #9 is a great example, as is Devin Nunes, and a number of other good Cali politicians....but they are massively outnumbered by Nancy Pelosi nutball leftist clones.
Someday, I'd love to buy #9 a dinner and sit and talk a while. Negative, accurate comments about California as a whole state are not attacks on the many good individual Californians.

Unfortunately the most Liberal politicians from California are the ones we hear the most about. And they are not Californians. Pelosi is from a mob-related political Baltimore family. Maxine Waters is from St. Louis. Adam Schiff is from Massachusetts. Barbara Boxer, NYC. Gray Davis, the Bronx, NY.
Ronald Reagan may have been the only well-known transplant who came to California from elsewhere and eventually realized he was not a Democrat anymore.
Many who claim to know all about California are not aware that for many decades it was a Republican-dominated state. Migration from other states changed that. It’s a really nice place to live and even the political baddies wanted to live here.

All true, #14.....and I know all of that back story, too. And the fact that the crazies who are wrecking a beautiful state originated elsewhere is irrelevant. Sadly, they are in charge, deeply embedded now and the are the faces that the state presents to the outside world, along with a lot of the Hollyweird crowd....again, not fair, but they are seen as representing the state. The good folks (many millions of them) don't get much of a voice, although Devin Nunes is a treasure for the whole country, as was Reagan.
And, perhaps there still are some nice places to live in Cali these days, but twice I turned down really technically attractive job offers in the aerospace sector in southern California because I couldn't stand their unfair gun laws, the high taxes, the totally insane housing costs, the massive number of illegals everywhere, and the political climate. I know many other Californians who have left, mostly people who love their gun rights and also people frightened for the way their children were being indoctrinated in schools. Three different families moved to Arkansas, the next state south of here. One college roommate still lives in San Diego, and I enjoy visiting them periodically.
I'd still love to buy #14 dinner some day if you ever get to KC. I'd love to disagree without being disagreeable, especially with someone that I agree with about 95% of the time.

How refreshing to read an article about a man who identifies as a woman, and who is referred to as 'he' throughout! Of course he's a he and should be called that. Writers who bend over backward to call a man a 'she' are frankly being offensive to women. Oh, by the way, if the obnoxious 'they' is being used as a generic single pronoun, then why don't the verbs match? If the writer wants to use 'they' for a single person, he should have to write 'they is' and 'they walks' and 'they exists', etc. It should be as painful to write as it is to read.
