On Wednesday, a Baptist preacher condemned a Methodist church. Amid an episode of his The Briefing podcast, Al Mohler — a pastor and president of Louisville, Kentucky’s Southern Baptist Theological Seminary — had strong words for Hope United Methodist Church. At issue: the Illinois congregation’s support of Isaac Simmons. As noted by The Daily Wire, Hope United has placed Isaac in a position of church leadership. They’ve also promoted him as a candidate for ordination. A couple of notables: Isaac is openly gay. Isaac is a drag queen.

Comments:

I don't know what to say. This has been coming for some time. This is not church anymore. It is a coven.

American culture has become a disgusting cesspool... The Republicans could have put a stop to this deviancy years ago but they were afraid the media would not like them! Imagine that? Gutless pukes!

I was raised in the Methodist church, back when it was still Christian. There are a few individual Methodist churches left that are not insane leftists, but the national leadership is Communist and I will have nothing to do with them, or many of their hideous disasters that they pretend are Christian churches, but are not.

#2 - I read earlier today that he HAS spoken from the pulpit in drag. Apparently he spoke about "queer holiness" or "holy queerness" or maybe both. This deviant is not the problem. He is enslaved to his obsessive/compulsive sexual disorder. The problem lies with the people who promote him as a candidate for ordination and listen to his ravings from the pulpit.

From an article dated April 29, 2021 : "The Illinois Great Rivers Conference’s Vermillion River District Committee on Ordained Ministry recently certified Simmons as a candidate for ministry, RNS reported. He likely is the “first drag queen certified” in the United Methodist Church, the news outlet said." Obviously there are a bunch of sickos on the Committee.

I left the Methodist Church 42 years ago. It became 'Bible a la carte.' You believe what you want to believe and I will believe what I want to believe. I didn't realize what I was missing until I started attending an evangelical church. I am going to start praying for the people in the Methodist churches as I drive by them. I will pray that the attendees come to realize the saving grace of Jsus.

And, Al Mohler needs to condemn CRT in the SBC. You know, that sweep around your own front door thing.

Over the past few months, as conspiracy theories have circulated regarding the election results and President Joe Biden’s inauguration, social platforms have struggled to keep up with the onslaught of misinformation. Much of these false narratives have been driven by believers of the QAnon conspiracy theory, the baseless idea that President Trump is lying in wait to expose a secret cabal of Democrats engaged in a child sex-trafficking ring. Inauguration Day was supposed to mark the “storm,” or the day of reckoning when Trump would arrest all of his enemies and send them to Guantanamo Bay; when the storm never arrived, many QAnon believers were left angry and confused.

Some conservatives have begun speculating the unrest in American cities—even as late as Monday night in Washington, DC, as “protestors” unsuccessfully worked to tear down a statue of Andrew Jackson and set up an autonomous zone across the street from the White House—may in part be an attempt to affect the upcoming presidential election, with the chaos and violence intended to make it as difficult as possible for Donald Trump to win a second term. Lending credence to this idea is the fact that at least one board member of Thousand Currents...

Ross Douthat’s column today centers on the decadence that has befallen the American system of government. Excerpts: It might surprise contemporary Americans that for most of our history, what we call “culture war” debates — arguments about rights, social justice, the moral organization of society — were often settled through democratic deliberation, rather than the kind of ruling the Supreme Court just delivered on gay and transgender civil rights. Congress debated and passed laws. State legislatures did the same. Constitutional amendments were proposed, passed, ratified — and when necessary, repealed.

For decades, the Navy's leading supplier of high-strength steel for submarines provided subpar metal because one of the company's longtime employees falsified lab results — putting sailors at greater risk in the event of collisions or other impacts, federal prosecutors said in court filings Monday. The supplier, Kansas City-based Bradken Inc., paid $10.9 million as part of a deferred prosecution agreement, the Justice Department said.     Corrections*

Former President George W. Bush appeared to blame himself for the country’s “populist uprising” on illegal immigration after he failed to pass comprehensive reform during his eight years in office. During an interview with “The Dispatch” podcast, Mr. Bush expanded on comments he made earlier this month that his failure to pass immigration reform was one of his biggest regrets of his presidency. “Now, the reason I say it’s a regret is because it’s my fault,” the former president said Thursday. “I tried to reform Social Security before reforming immigration. Asked directly if he would oppose unilateral action by Congress to make the district a state, Manchin replied, "Yes, I would."
