Mayor Lori Lightfoot on Sunday blasted unsubstantiated social media chatter as “homophobic, racist and misogynistic rumors” and indicated she is not resigning. “I will continue to lead a group of the willing all across our city who are about doing the people’s work,” Lightfoot said through her political account. “The people of Chicago elected me mayor, and I will continue to serve today, tomorrow and into the future. Back to work.” Lightfoot, who has been trending on Twitter since Saturday night, posted five tweets around 10:30 a.m. Sunday. “It’s shocking and disappointing to see some media members and verified Twitter handles are peddling this trash as truth,”

Comments:

The rumor might be a lie but it isn't homophobic, racist and/or misogynistic.

''Homophobic'' is not even a real word, it is made-up BS terminology. The Greek root and suffix combined would mean; an irrational fear [phobia] of things that are the same [homo, ex. homogenous]. So, someone who is homophobic would have an irrational fear of identical twins [monozygotic], matched sets, look-alikes, and doppelgangers.

In my initial comment I should have explained what the rumor is. A Chicago activist claimed on his Twitter account that Lightfoot was going to resign because she was caught having an affair. There's much more to it on Twitter but the media has chosen to protect her, unlike their treatment of Donald Trump when they reported every disgusting lie ever floated about him.

I'm trying to figure out what the voters of Chicago saw when the photo of this bug was made public. Did they think an alien from outer space had landed to save their city? Mayor Lori: Why is your response to criticism, and I mean EVERY criticism, from too much crime in the city to comments on the weather, that the person / media making the critical comments is racist, bigoted, and homophobic? Is that the Lori Lightfoot way of deflecting any responsibility on her part or the city's abdication of any responsibility for the high crime and murder rates? Stop using the black, lesbian, female card as an "I'm not responsible for the problems here" excuse. Your continued ignoring and/or excusing the problems because they are mostly in, and mainly caused by, members of the BLACK community does nothing to improve or help the weekly carnage in the black community. Take responsibility, take action, or take a new job!

I've only been to Chicago twice. The first time I had a great dinner telling the maitre d' hotel that I was Abe Froman, the Sausage King. After a parade, I met this girl who was babysitting 3 kids. She was the spitting image of a centerfold girl in a magazine that some black dude dropped near a car where two white guys wearing sunglasses at night in a beat up land yacht were telling me they were on a "Mission from God". I think the second time, I recall a stroll down Michigan Avenue watching a hooker take care of a John in a dark alley. First part tongue-in-cheek, second part is reason to not return. For Rio Lindans, Ferris Beuhler's Day Off, Adventures In Babysitting. And Blues Brothers...L-dotters know the references.
