Texas Roadhouse founder and CEO Kent Taylor committed suicide after grappling with “unbearable” long-term symptoms of COVID-19, the company said.
Taylor, 65, took his own life Thursday, the restaurant chain said in a statement.
The statement said that Taylor had been experiencing post-coronavirus symptoms that had grown worse — including severe tinnitus, or ringing in the ear. (Snip) “Kent battled and fought hard like the former track champion that he was, but the suffering that greatly intensified in recent days became unbearable,” the statement said, according to McClatchy News.

FTA: "Taylor had forfeited his salary from March 2020 through the rest of the year to allow the funds to go to help frontline restaurant employees during the pandemic."

When is someone or some government going to hold China responsible for the damage they've done to people's lives and the world economy?

We'll never come to close to knowing the extent of the true irreparable damage caused by this COVID-19. Kent Taylor is one example among untold millions.

Sounds like a very nice fellow. Texas Roadhouse is a great steak restaurant. Peanuts waiting as you walk through the door, great steaks and baked potatoes and tasty margaritas. Great service too.

OMG This is so incredibly sad and really burns me up. The medical profession which has gone corporate has not done it's duty. People like Dr. Drew get the medicine they need for the side effects from covid but the ordinary person or those relying on 'what the state will allow' suffer. Dr. Drew had covid & a side effect was bad tinnitus, he took a common drug call fluvoxamine which helped immensely. Fluvoxamine has kept people who tested positive & were showing symptoms out of the hospital. Both ivermectin and fluvoxamine are hard to get for early treatment - yet they are both effective - the fluvoxamine being near 100%. These drugs have been around for decades and they know what doses are safe. We can't get ivermectin from our 'corporate' doctors unless we are so sick we end up in the hospital. The fluvoxamine - which is an antidepressant - is even harder to get - even tho' it has been studied and JAMA published an article on the double blind study done at the Washington University School of Medicine in St.Louis last year.

Tinnitus is very common among dogs. When it strikes a canine - - it's referred to as Rin-Tin-Tinnitus.

The death revealed a not commonly known side effect of Covid, tinnitus. I had gotten a case very early in Jan 2020 from a dental visit. Unusual symptons, but it passed after a week. This was before any publicity about Covid, shutdowns, CDC recommendations. Then, subsequently some ringing in the ears occurred, and I wondered why. Now, I wonder if there is a correlation. They have been putting up 5G all over the neighborhood. I have heard that can cause some issues. I suspect it does. I was out walking in a rainstorm, and lightning struck near those 5G boxes. I have never seen such witnessed such explosiveness before. So, I don't know for sure what is going on, but I suspect a lot.

I have had a severe case of tinnitus for over 20 years. There are times when it is quite “loud” and annoying but I have learned to push it aside. I have whistles, bells, white noise, crickets, birds chirping and sometimes it can sound like a muffled radio is playing in my head. For someone who is lucky enough not to have tinnitus it is hard for them to imagine that it is never quiet. There is always some type of sound in your head 24/7. I cannot imagine how bad his must have been. I am wondering what other symptoms he might have had that lead him to this decision. I hope he is now at rest.

This man was either not aware of what #7 states - and it is true - or was denied that treatment. (Ivermectin is handed out in our extended households who have had CV since the research first hit months back) It angers that relief is that close but politics and medicine have combined into a new entity. Subscribe to MedCram on Covid on YouTube, read the real research - not Google - on places like "Up To Date" and others.
He could have gotten relief from this, but had to get to the right provider, not politicized. That's a guess as to what happened, but that is what we're seeing in our hospitals and PCP offices.
This was a good man. He kept his restaurant employees paid - unlike Logan's Steakhouse who paid their staff ZERO - and just shut the doors, no communication w staff - don't think they even got unemployment in many states - and ultimately closed completely in the end. Poorly run entity. Texas Roadhouse was not, and is still standing.

I've had tinnitus for much of my life. I can't imagine doing that, but who knows, may be more to the story than we know.

I enjoyed some carry-out meals. I upped the size of the steak and had enough food for 3 meals

All the Texas Roadhouse here in Nashville closed a few years ago so i don't think business is great either. My wife and I always enjoyed going there getting a couple of drinks and a hamburger or grilled chicken sandwich. RIP Mr. Taylor.

Our Texas Roadhouse opened up last summer already. Friend and I were there on the first day it opened. Things went so smooth and we touched nothing until we got to our table. Paper menus, paper salt and pepper. Everyone was gloved and masked. Doors were open so you didn't have to touch doors. Food is so good and they are so busy. So sorry to hear this.
