FCC Commissioner: Close
‘Loophole’ Allowing Chinese Telecoms

Americans have come to understand the national security threat posed by China-based telecom companies, but they might be surprised to learn that equipment from the telecom firms continues to be used in U.S. networks, according to Brendan Carr, Federal Communication Commission (FCC) commissioner. The FCC in 2020 banned carriers in the United States from using an $8.3 billion federal fund to purchase equipment from China-based telecom companies Huawei and ZTE after deeming them to be national security threats. However, carriers are allowed to buy and use the exact same equipment as long as they use private funds.

It's too late. At this point, it would be easier for all of us to learn to speak Chinese than to rid the country of the CCP. They have purchased the Democrat party and executed a hostile takeover of America. Our only hope as a country is that the Democrats don't destroy our economy to the point that the Chinese can make more by breaking us up and selling off all our assets than by letting us continue as an ongoing operation.

One thing the FCC could do to reduce propaganda is to yank each and every NBC, CBS and ABC broadcast license.

Hard-right House Republicans on Friday were discussing forming an America First Caucus, which one document described as championing “Anglo-Saxon political traditions” and warning that mass immigration was putting the “unique identity” of the U.S. at risk. The Associated Press obtained a copy of the paper, which was first reported by Punchbowl News, a news outlet covering Capitol Hill. The AP could not independently confirm the organization’s origins or current status, but Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., said he was joining and indicated that fellow conservative Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., was behind it.

For some months, I have been arguing that the declaration of a “public health emergency” based on the Wuhan virus epidemic has had much more to do with an effort to curtail civil liberties…and to develop a body of favorable Supreme Court decisions that essentially eviscerate the Bill of Rights…than they have to do with any desire to keep Americans safe.As we’ve seen in New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Michigan (to name the top-shelf examples), there are state governments who are perfectly happy killing as many of us as necessary to get their way. The mainstream media loves a high human death toll. Take it from CNN Technical Director Charlie Chester, who was reportedly catfished through a dating site, according to Mediaite, and led to unwittingly disclose to the world that leftist CNN’s dark reporting tactics through the last year were allegedly rooted in a desire to see more dead mothers, fathers, daughters, sons and grandparents. For the first time since at least 2015, former House Speaker John Boehner is the toast of the town in Washington. The Ohio Republican is out with his memoir On the House. In both the book and a series of interviews to promote it, Boehner dishes on his party. On The View, Boehner accused former President Donald Trump of “one of the sadder things I’ve seen in the last 40 years in politics.” “The president abused the loyalty and the trust that voters had placed in him by perpetuating this noise,” Boehner said of Trump’s claims that last year’s presidential race was stolen from him through widespread voter fraud.
The Paradox That Fuels Our Divided Politics 16 replies

American politics is caught in a perverse paradox. The bases of both parties would like nothing more than to destroy the other party. But it is precisely this animus that prevents them from accomplishing their goal. That’s because the best strategy for partisans to wreak havoc in the other party is to pursue bipartisanship when they’re in power. When Barack Obama came into office with majorities in Congress, he opted to push his agenda on a party-line basis, starting with the 2009 stimulus package that passed the Senate with only three Republican votes and the 2010 Affordable Care Act that got no Republican support in the Senate.

A nexus can be formed among seemingly unrelated things during unusual times. Such is the case with dogs, COVID-19, mental health, politicians, and China’s history of peddling toxic products. Americans of all ages have experienced a harmful lack of social interaction in the last year, with no definitive end in sight. For millions, the best therapy is a dog. As the acquisition of furry friends skyrockets and our dependence on them increases with our isolation, those dogs’ health may be at risk from food and supplements made with ingredients sourced in China. First they sent us COVID-19, and now —

The vast majority of Republican voters hold a favorable view of former President Trump two months after he left office, according to a new poll. The survey obtained by The Hill was conducted by Tony Fabrizio, who polled for the former president’s 2020 campaign. In the poll, Trump gets the favorable ratings of 81 percent of voters who are registered Republicans or affiliate as Republicans, while 88 percent said they approved of the job Trump did as president. In a potential 2024 GOP primary, Trump gets the support of 51 percent of GOP voters. No other potential candidate breaks

The Pope has appointed progressive Newark Cardinal Joseph Tobin to the Vatican’s bishop-making panel. Why does this matter? Phil Lawler explains: Let’s suppose that a man you know accidentally makes public a Twitter message that was obviously supposed to be read by only one person. The message reads: “Nighty-night, baby. I love you.” The man who sent that message is not married. What do you conclude? Right. Now further suppose that the man in question is a celibate priest. In fact, a cardinal of the Catholic Church. Does that alter your conclusion?

The pace of those sales nearly doubled from 2019, when insiders at the same companies dumped 4.7 million shares worth roughly $132 million, the paper reported Wednesday,

On Friday, Japanese Prime Minister Joshihide Suga became the first world leader to visit the Biden White House. These visits help set the tone for an administration. That being the case, the new administration’s tone is inept and rude. Biden was also absent for the first part of it, leaving an awkward Kamala Harris to trash the U.S. for gun violence before turning to welcome Suga. When Biden took over, things went downhill. (snip) Normally, when a foreign head of state arrives, the President gives him or her a formal greeting. This time, however, the President was nowhere to be found.

President Obama was well known for his diplomatic blunders, stumbles and curt demeanor with many foreign dignitaries including Queen Elizabeth II. Unsurprisingly it appears the JoeBama administration is picking up right where Obama left off. Japanese Prime Minister Joshihide Suga was the first world leader to visit the White House since Biden’s installation, and the poor form began with no-one greeting the head of the Japanese government upon arrival. When you consider the leftist narrative about stopping Asian hate, there is a rather ironic aspect to this visit and snub. Once Prime Minister Suga was inside the White House he was shunned for the greeting by his diplomatic peer,

There was a prolonged ammunition shortage during the Obama administration. I got through that one because a Power Line reader lined me up with a dealer in West Virginia who seemed to have an endless supply of 9 mm. and .22LR rounds. Over the last year, another ammo shortage has struck, caused in part by an influx of new gun buyers who are responding to rising crime rates, attacks on law enforcement, and the election of Joe Biden. As with most shortages, it has been accentuated by hoarding: whenever a shooter saw boxes of a popular caliber on the shelves, he would buy them all. For quite a while
