For some months, I have been arguing that the declaration of a “public health emergency” based on the Wuhan virus epidemic has had much more to do with an effort to curtail civil liberties…and to develop a body of favorable Supreme Court decisions that essentially eviscerate the Bill of Rights…than they have to do with any desire to keep Americans safe.As we’ve seen in New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Michigan (to name the top-shelf examples), there are state governments who are perfectly happy killing as many of us as necessary to get their way. This is the way everyone in Washington DC operates. Power and control is the basis for existing for these people (lots of money and perks too).

A new Trey Gowdy is scoring zinger points for the TV audience, building his brand yet accomplishing nothing for the American people. Is there a congressman bold enough to demand why Fauci funded the illegal gain-of-function research at Wuhan that produced Covid-19, using US tax dollars to boot? To demand that he be thrown in prison instead of profiting from perhaps the greatest crime in history? That's the elephant in the room.

I consider this malevolent twerp to be the greatest mass-murderer in American history. And that, for his part in financing the creation of the Covid 19 virus, and his deliberately faulty response to it. Thousands died unnecessarily. But his other great crime was finessing the coup that illegitimately removed our President. For that, I rank him with John Wilkes Booth's co-conspirators. They didn't fire the shot in the box of Ford's Theater, but were guilty as well, and paid the ultimate price. So should he. It's time to update the expression that arose from that fateful event. Your name will be Mudd, can now be: 'Your name will be Fauci'.

Watched a college baseball game on tv last night from Starkville, Mississippi. Huge crowd. No social distancing in the crowd. People sitting next to each other. Not one mask. The only masks at the game were the players in the dugout and their manager and coaches. The fear of COVID-19 is gone for most of us. Dr. Fauci is being ignored. I wear a mask when in public because it's expected. I hate them because it makes it difficult to breathe.

These Federal Bureaucracies all need to be knocked down about 100 notches. The NIH CDC FDA should be entirely ADVISORY to the President and Congress and in NO WAY capable of making de facto Law. Even their Regulations need to be scrutinized for Constitutionality before being written into the Federal Register.

One of the primary goals of the lockdown is conditioning Americans to live without freedom. I wish I could say that plan was failing miserably.

Dr Fake keeps warning of a bigger better virus, but not a word about virus coming across the border and scattering to all corners of the US. I worry because so many are letting their guard down and stores are not cleaning that well anymore. Funny, how for the past year, you can touch anything in produce and leave it.

Hard-right House Republicans on Friday were discussing forming an America First Caucus, which one document described as championing “Anglo-Saxon political traditions” and warning that mass immigration was putting the “unique identity” of the U.S. at risk. The Associated Press obtained a copy of the paper, which was first reported by Punchbowl News, a news outlet covering Capitol Hill. The AP could not independently confirm the organization’s origins or current status, but Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., said he was joining and indicated that fellow conservative Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., was behind it.

Americans have come to understand the national security threat posed by China-based telecom companies, but they might be surprised to learn that equipment from the telecom firms continues to be used in U.S. networks, according to Brendan Carr, Federal Communication Commission (FCC) commissioner. The FCC in 2020 banned carriers in the United States from using an $8.3 billion federal fund to purchase equipment from China-based telecom companies Huawei and ZTE after deeming them to be national security threats. However, carriers are allowed to buy and use the exact same equipment as long as they use private funds.

In both the book and a series of interviews to promote it, Boehner dishes on his party. On The View, Boehner accused former President Donald Trump of “one of the sadder things I’ve seen in the last 40 years in politics.” “The president abused the loyalty and the trust that voters had placed in him by perpetuating this noise,” Boehner said of Trump’s claims that last year’s presidential race was stolen from him through widespread voter fraud.
The Paradox That Fuels Our Divided Politics 16 replies

American politics is caught in a perverse paradox. The bases of both parties would like nothing more than to destroy the other party. But it is precisely this animus that prevents them from accomplishing their goal. That’s because the best strategy for partisans to wreak havoc in the other party is to pursue bipartisanship when they’re in power. When Barack Obama came into office with majorities in Congress, he opted to push his agenda on a party-line basis, starting with the 2009 stimulus package that passed the Senate with only three Republican votes and the 2010 Affordable Care Act that got no Republican support in the Senate.

A nexus can be formed among seemingly unrelated things during unusual times. Such is the case with dogs, COVID-19, mental health, politicians, and China’s history of peddling toxic products. Americans of all ages have experienced a harmful lack of social interaction in the last year, with no definitive end in sight. For millions, the best therapy is a dog. As the acquisition of furry friends skyrockets and our dependence on them increases with our isolation, those dogs’ health may be at risk from food and supplements made with ingredients sourced in China. First they sent us COVID-19, and now —

The Pope has appointed progressive Newark Cardinal Joseph Tobin to the Vatican’s bishop-making panel. Why does this matter? Phil Lawler explains: Let’s suppose that a man you know accidentally makes public a Twitter message that was obviously supposed to be read by only one person. The message reads: “Nighty-night, baby. I love you.” The man who sent that message is not married. What do you conclude? Right. Now further suppose that the man in question is a celibate priest. In fact, a cardinal of the Catholic Church. Does that alter your conclusion?

On Friday, Japanese Prime Minister Joshihide Suga became the first world leader to visit the Biden White House. These visits help set the tone for an administration. That being the case, the new administration’s tone is inept and rude. Biden was also absent for the first part of it, leaving an awkward Kamala Harris to trash the U.S. for gun violence before turning to welcome Suga. When Biden took over, things went downhill.
