Afghanistan: 'We have won the war,
America has lost', say Taliban

Driving to Taliban-controlled territory doesn't take long. [SNIP] We meet our host: Haji Hekmat, the Taliban's shadow mayor in Balkh district. Perfumed and in a black turban, he's a veteran member of the group, having first joined the militants in the 1990s when they ruled over the majority of the country. The Taliban have arranged a display of force for us. Lined up on either side of the street are heavily armed men, one carrying a rocket propelled grenade launcher, another an M4 assault rifle captured from US forces. Balkh was once one of the more stable parts of the country; now it's become one of the most violent.

When the last WW2 vet dies, we will have no Americans who know what its like to win a war. When I joined the military in 81, I was being trained by Vietnam vets who's methods and desired outcomes were...iffy. They were teaching us young guys how to lose and we said so at the time. I cant imagine its any different now.

The British learned this (twice I believe), the Russians once and now us. Afghanistan is a sinkhole that will take everything you’ve got. Plus we forgot long ago how to wage war. The Marines in the Pacific knew how.....give no quarter. Meet brutality with greater brutality and once the enemy is on his knees you stomp him into the dirt. That’s called victory.

These encounters were filmed and shown on NPR last night. For some Taliban it has been a lifetime career. The reason that nobody can win in Afghanistan is that nobody is serious about winning except them. America has been so hogtied by fighting a PC war wince the George W Bush years that we have been losing from the beginning. We dropped thousands of tons of bombs and lost many good people to get one man, Usama bin Laden, who wasn't even there. Very stupid.

Much will be written about the long history of the futility of defeating Afghanistan with mountains and caves galore. The real lesson is much broader in scope. You cannot impose by force the will to live free of the application of force. This notion that every individual living under any form of tyranny will welcome liberation and suddenly rise up against their oppressors shoulder to shoulder with their American liberators is ridiculous. In fact, that absurd notion is in direct conflict with American exceptionalism, the rest of the world really doesn't think like us or at least how we used to think. The American experiment was, and what's left of it, is exceptional. Half of us have succumbed to the lure of security offered by a government that serves as parent eliminating the need for individual adulthood decision making and risk taking. Amen #2, we are at war with an ideology that will destroy us and we have extended our lines thinned our resources and allowed an invasion of the Homefront. It's high time to rally on our last hill, no time to dither in foreign lands.

That's because America hasn't fought a war like it was really a war since WWII, when we mass destroyed entire cities with huge civilian populations in order to destroy the country's will to even fight. Since then, it's been "policing actions" with "rules of engagement" that always sacrificed our young people in order to not kill the enemy's civilians or destroy vital civilian resources. That's not war. That's stupidity dressed in virtue. I cringe every time I pass military cemeteries and think of all the brave, selfless soldiers who died...for NOTHING...and the families who quietly grieve for their loss. Democrats care more for virtue signaling than they do for the lives of our own people. That's why we will never win a war that they are in charge of.

Some describe what "winning" was in Afghanistan...no one ever defined "winning". Did we achieve our military goals at the time? Then it was time to get out, go home, and call it even. We didn't. Conservatives fawned over purple fingers, a fancy-dressed kabob shop President, and surges. We stuck around two decades to establish an Afghan security force that never apparently took root. This, by the way, was a bi-partisan strategy. Bush-Obama-Trump...the difference was lip service. Trump pulls out troops, that's great. Biden pulls out troops, that's defeat. Let's be real. Dubya should have pulled out those troops almost twenty years ago.

The rats could say the same thing about New York City... so what? Our military Snipers gained such high kill rates that surpass any conflicts of the past. That is because Arabs fight stoopid. Yes, even though they're too cowardly to wear a uniform and fly a flag in battle, they hide among civilians like total vermin and expose them to retaliatory fire to gain political advantage. Arabs are scum and Islam is not worth preserving, anywhere it's found. What the USA should have done was to evacuate each and every female from the country. Leave only the men. Cut off all lines of resupply then start the rolling bomb runs throughout the country.

It’s really unfortunate that Biden changed the date from 5/1/21 and instead selected 9/11/21 as the date that the USA and NATO will militarily retreat from Afghanistan; as 9/11 is the date that the Islamist terrorist organizations use to celebrate their successful attack on the World Trade Center in New York where they murdered over three thousand Americans. Another really bad look by Biden.

What's most sickening is the Taliban will regain control of Afghanistan on the 20th anniversary of 9/11. What a statement by our America hating leaders. We were probably destined to lose from the beginning because of the level of brutality required to win in Afghanistan, but the way we are losing it is extremely revolting. That is absolutely right and what better way to commemorate the US loss and celebrate the Taliban victory than to withdraw US troops from Afghanistan on September 11. Think about when this country was lost again? After W went in full force the country had the promise of Afghanistan in the 60's. Karzai was elected president and educated Afghan refugees returned to improve their country only to be tortured and murdered, some out on open streets. Unfortunately we fought fanatics and the only way to convince them is to end them. W and O didn't go far enough and the good people left again leaving President Trump with the land deteriorating back to the chaotic stone age in the name of religion.

Because we haven't had a President for 70 years (or a media or a congress) that would actually support a war to win it. They all wanted to 'nation build', with Rules of Engagement that crippled the possibility of actually defeating the enemy. Mostly when they go to war it is to please their Military Industrial Complex donors who's interest is not in winning wars, but in unending opportunities to expend ordnance and replace it with ever more expensive stuff. Not as much profit in actually winning a war as there is in maintaining one.

Attacking Capitol Police officers is a horrifying crime, but attacking Brooklyn Center police officers is a peaceful protest.
