Florida Republican Sen. Marco Rubio told Just the News that the outcome of the war in Afghanistan is going to be a "terrible thing," predicting that the Taliban will take over the country. Rubio, a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, was reacting to the Biden administration's reported plans to announce a withdrawal from Afghanistan by Sept. 11, 2021. "What they've announced is that they're going to stick with President Trump's decision with regards to Afghanistan," Rubio said on Tuesday.

Comments:

"The Taliban will take over" So? So Afghanistan will revert to being a collection of warring tribes - - just as it always has been. But don't worry, Little Marco - - the Sugar Lobby will still keep funding your campaigns.

Yup and while we have been pouring our treasure and blood all over the world to thwart the bad guys, the bad guys have overrun our own country.

The argument by these people has always been fight them over there or in our front yard. I guess Rubio hasn't been watching our cities put to the torch by the same anti American forces that roam other parts of the world. The fight is here on main street.....always has been.

It has been almost 20 years since 9/11. Billions, alone, pored into our intel communities (plus the billions for DoD) to prevent the next 9/11 so why so concerned about the potential of another 9/11? I mean, we have the CIA, FBI, all the other intel agencies fine tuning their abilities for the past 20 years to prevent and detect and destroy potential Islamic threats. Oh wait.....

You mean, that TWENTY-YEAR and counting WAR IN AFGHANISTAN, Senator Rubio, that President Trump recognized as a farce, and was attempting to pull our service men and women out of? (The reasons for some to get Trump out of the Oval Office are too numerous to count.) Rubio is another public servant who never serves the public or our country, but only serves Marco, though our Propagandist Media will not touch him with a ten-foot pole, but will beat up on Matt Gaetz. ected {rs but only serves himself. Apologize for not deleting last line. Though it would have been a horror if Rubio won in 2016.

They've had twenty years to get with the program and take care of themselves over there. It is the military version of "two weeks to flatten the curve." The Taliban, like the virus, will be there when a certain time period of intervention has lapsed. If the Afghan people want to live with some semblance of freedom, they need to take over and preserve it for their countrymen. Too many Americans have died to bring them the freedom they don't seem to want to fight for on their own.

Funny how persuasive those arguments advanced by Rubio were up until fairly recently. We've spent two decades and somehow the Afghans can't muster their own effective security forces. The US is the Ben Rogers of the globe, always willing to foolishly whitewash fences while those "helped" layabout. Hey. the US is the "Leader of the Free World", defending Arab princes, Kuwaiti Emirs, Afghan kabob shop magnates, Iraqi shysters, and European socialist fops...among many others. Ahh, for just one more surge...that would do the trick this time.

I don't remember why we were there in the first place. The terrorists on 9/11 were mostly from Saudi Arabia.

Too bad that Biden and his leftist crew selected 9/11 as the date that the US and NATO military forces with retreat out of Afghanistan. As 9/11 is the date that is celebrated by the Islamist terrorists as the date that they successfully attacked the World Trade Center. What the US military and NATO will be doing by retreating out of Afghanistan on 9/11 will certainly be viewed by the Islamist terrorists to be a sign of strategic weakness.

Senate Republicans will introduce legislation Thursday to create a new bipartisan national commission to reduce the deficit and balance the federal budget within 10 years. Republicans are concerned about runaway government spending and how it will be funded after Congress spent nearly $6 trillion in pandemic relief last year while the Biden administration is gearing up to spend trillions more. “We are on an unsustainable trajectory. We’ve become numb to the word ‘trillion,’” said Sen Cynthia Lummis, a Wyoming Republican and the lead sponsor of the Sustainable Budget Act.

The New York Times reported on Monday, citing “people familiar with the investigation," that Durham “has keyed in on the FBI’s handling of a notorious dossier of political opposition research both before and after the bureau started using it to obtain court permission to wiretap a former Trump campaign adviser."

George Floyd might be alive had former President Barack Obama not, for eight years, consistently play the anti-cop race card. Despite receiving more white votes than 2004 Democratic candidate John Kerry, Obama said: "The legacy of slavery, Jim Crow, discrimination in almost every institution of our lives -- you know, that casts a long shadow, and that's still part of our DNA that's passed on. We're not cured of it. ... Racism -- we are not cured of it."

InterVarsity Christian Fellowship had operated continuously at Michigan's Wayne State University "since the 1930s" — until campus officials stripped its recognition in 2017 for "requiring that its faith leaders profess to be faithful," U.S. District Judge Robert Cleland wrote in a scathing 83-page ruling.

A bipartisan group of lawmakers is warning that the national debt –– now estimated to total $85,210 per person –– poses an imminent threat, especially if interest rates spike. The U.S. government has spent around $6 trillion during the coronavirus pandemic, in addition to regular government appropriations. The $6 trillion figure does not count the $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan that President Biden signed a few weeks ago. The deficit set a record in FY2020 at $3.13 trillion. And the national debt has hit a record $28 trillion.

How did this happen? How did the nation go in an instant from disbelieving every utterance of Donald Trump to robotically repeating — and acting on — every claim that falls out of Joe Biden’s mouth, no matter how disconnected from the truth? The most glaring example involves Biden’s fact-challenged tirade against Georgia’s new voting law. At his first and only press conference, Biden declared the state’s efforts to protect against voter fraud were worse than Jim Crow, “un-American,” “sick,” and “despicable.” (This was the same press conference where moments later Biden bragged about how much time he’s spent with China’s genocidal communist dictator before calling him “a smart, smart guy.”)

Anybody who’s taking Dr. Anthony Fauci seriously probably needs to stop doing so. He endlessly moves the goalposts to maintain his unlimited power over the American people, something Democrats support. That’s why, on Thursday, during House testimony, Rep. Maxine Watters (who is a low-rent harridan) tried to shut down Rep. Jim Jordan’s efforts to get Fauci to say when enough Americans will be vaccinated so that COVID restrictions can end. The past year has shown that Fauci either has no idea what he’s talking about or is trying to advance an agenda that invariably has to do with maintaining the 2020 status quo of lockdowns, isolation, and masks.
