It was only a matter of time before the left-wing cancel mob came for Gran Torino, Clint Eastwood’s 2008 movie about a bigoted retired autoworker and his Asian Hmong neighbors. The racial epithets spewed by protagonist Walt Kowalski are so prolific that it’s hard to imagine the movie being released under today’s ultra-woke Hollywood standards.Anyone who’s seen Gran Torino and has half a brain will easily grasp that the movie is the opposite of racist. After Walt catches Thao, the Hmong teenager next door, trying to steal his cherished 1972 Gran Torino, he puts the boy to work fixing houses around the neighborhood

I was a good movie. Accurate portrayal of folks in some neighborhoods, and THAT is what angers them.

A great movie that highlights the ironies and silliness of ethnic animosities while taking a stand against the true evil of violence by gang-bangers.

A wonderful movie, with a great message. Lost on liberals, as all great messages are.
The Gran Torino was the lesser of the classics, though, behind Walt's M-1 Garand.

I didnt like the movie and was very disappointed with it. Not because of any racial things being said. Didn't even notice those. It was because it was a Clint Eastwood movie with almost no action in it. Just a big yawn. The M1 Garand was nice, but I have one of my own and can see it anytime I want.

I love all of his movies, my favorite being Dirty Harry. What will they do, fire Clint Eastwood?

Those that do not enjoy it don't have to watch it.

Liberal families probably recognized Walt's worthless and entitled granddaughter and it struck a familiar and unwelcome chord.

It would be bliss to see the bankruptcy of:
1. Hollywood
2. Vile musicians
3. Woke corporations
4. The MSM
Anything I can do to hasten the process, I will do.

Terse and worthwhile essay. A fine defense of the movie.
Odd how the open-minded ethos of the 60s has devolved into this pathetic, whiny cowering.
Like the voter ID thing, as if certain ethnicities are too befuddled by modern life to get a state identification card, or laugh off ignorance (as Walt’s more egregious bigotries should be— and were intended to be— laughed off; pursuant to a broader point about the, dare I say it-? ...The brotherhood of man).
Truly pathetic that the avatars of CRT and BLM think their patronizing, condescending policies and rhetoric are somehow empowering.
What a bunch of weak minded fools.

During lockdown last year I binge-watched the entire 8 years of the television show “House”. Just wait until the SJWs get ahold of that one.
