Remember Never Trump? For four years, an influential clique of think tankers, Republican operatives and talking heads claimed that any conservative who supported Donald Trump was complicit with a uniquely malevolent presidency. But if Trumpian conservatives are responsible for everything the 45th president was faulted for, then Never Trump should likewise own the evils of the new Biden administration. Never Trumpers spoke of the Trump GOP almost as if it were Saddam Hussein’s Ba’ath Party, a dictator’s discredited political organ, badly in need of a purge. “President Donald Trump leaves office with a crimson-stained legacy,” thundered Peter Wehner, vice president of the Ethics and Public Policy Center.

They do own the faults of the Biden administration. Mitch McConnell got on that boat. Fox News too. The RNC did nothing. Still wondering where all those RNC lawyers disappeared to. I had heard there were 600 or so. Never saw a one of them.

Why do you think that they have been calling the Republican Party the Stupid Party for so long?

I never never liked Mona Charen. She always came across as a prissy goody goody. Clearly she is no longer a conservative, or maybe was only pretending to be on.

#1 is absolutely correct. The GOPe has *zero* desire to be in the majority; that's way too much work and responsibility. No, they are happy to putter along as the other wing of the UniParty, and keep their lavish lifestyles and continue to be invited to all the best DC parties. They disgust me. It's why I divorced them in January after *decades* of abuse. I'm sure I will vote Republican in many races, but not because I am one.
I'm very sorry to say - sorrier than he will ever know or care - that our own beloved Jonah is firmly in the NeverTrump camp. Of all the people who are, his being so absolutely broke my heart. I truly adore him and know he has a magnificent mind, and I believe he loves America and conservatism. He wrote Liberal Fascism, for crying out loud. Unless he has renounced those beliefs, I just cannot figure his thinking. He and PDT are both from NYC and would've brushed elbows from time to time...is this about a deep-seated old grudge? Does it not matter to him that PDT did more bold conservative things than any President since...well, it was before Reagan because even he didn't accomplish as much. And in so many areas. (His only major failing that I could see was his disastrous hiring decisions so many times, and cannot be overstated.) So when I see Jonah's name anywhere, every single time, a cloud of sadness passes over my heart. Everybody else - that nimrod Jennifer Rubin, the rest of the National Review crowd, Max Boot, loser Mitt Romney, et al, are nothing to me. But Jonah hurts, even now.

Before I discovered Lucianne, my go-to conservative website was Free Republic. Peter Werner started his career commenting on that site. I bailed out of there when the vast majority were supporting McCain in the 2000 primaries. By then I was already posting here but still posting there as well. At this point, I don’t even know if the site still exists and don’t care to know.

I always thought that Trump-hatred was based on pure jealously, that a non-politician could enter the arena and beat both sides of the Uniparty so soundly at their own game. With few exceptions, everything that Donald Trump accomplished made America better and he was able to succeed against such incredible lies, attacks and opposition from the left. We are all suffering now under the senile old pervert that is the democrat figurehead and the only satisfaction we will see in the next three years is when the Trump-haters suffer pain and the loss of their fortunes because the democrats are in the game for personal gain and nothing else. They stole an election and are stampeding over America like a herd of panicked Buffalo. Pence and the RNC could have at least shown some resistance but did absolutely nothing and for that I will never again support any of them. Our recourse now is to resist the communists from the far corners of the country where things are still sane. It seems that now we are fighting against a world-wide effort to make America like the rest of them and if we go down fighting, so be it. The short taste of freedom we enjoy is worth it.
