The Covid-19 vaccine manufactured by Pfizer has been shown to be 91.3 percent effective against infection even after six months according to findings released by the company. The findings come from a growing body of data on how volunteers in the shot’s late-stage trials are responding to the vaccine. The data determined whether or not the volunteers contracted Covid with or without symptoms. That the vaccine still proved to be so effective after six months is an excellent sign it may last even longer. Wall Street Journal: Pfizer said it hopes to provide more information on protection beyond six months in the coming weeks. The companies said they planned to continue

91.3% effectiveness for a virus that 98% get over naturally. That's a big wet kiss to Pfizer, isn't it? I've gotten all my shots. Prove me wrong. Keep in mind, HIPAA laws apply.

Worthless statistic. How many would not have contracted COVID without taking the vaccine? i.e. no control group. Well guess what. I am in the control group and will remain so.

So 9% of those who took the vaccine got covid. No reporting on the deaths and other reactions, of course. And in about 6 more months: oops, you need another booster shot. (just ask England) When people proudly tell me that they have had their vaccine, I want to say "I'm sorry"....but I smile and keep my mouth shut because it is too late.

My doctor's office called about getting the shot. Told her I wasn't interested but while we were on the subject asked her what therapeutics the Dr. was able to prescribe, should I contract the virus. She paused, and, um, said, "...go to the hospital." I asked, So, I can't have my Dr. prescribe any therapeutics in Maryland?" She said "No." The People's Republic of Maryland has spoken.

Too many vaccinated people seem to believe that they're out of the woods. Our son, a First Responder, was fully vaccinated in January. He called us last night and said he has tested positive! 91% efficacy is pretty good, but not a guarantee. Sounds like caution still needs to be taken and boosters will probably be required.

Having worked in a Covid ridden hospital dodging Covid positive persons for the past year and not even getting a cold during that time, I've stopped telling people this Covid thing is overblown. If people want to walk around wearing hazmat suits to prevent themselves from getting a virus that better than 98% will be fine with, then have at it. Will the virus make one feel bad for a couple of days? Sure. But so does the flu, and even a bad cold.

It’s not a vaccine. If it were, it should work for the rest of your life like the polio or smallpox vaccines, not for 6 months. Still not getting it. My body, My choice. BTW, more than a year into this insanity, I STILL don’t personally know a single person who has had it. What are the odds on that if it really is so contagious?

WE should keep in mind that this is a big boost for the pharmaceutical companies... like the flu shot... every year you will need a shot... good business...I'm still interested in hydroxychloroquine as an alternative...must be a reason the government is so against it....is it because it's cheaper and works just fine....

91% effective? Hmmm.... Hypothetically I could be in line to get the COVID needle with 19 other people. Who doesn't get protected? Will it be me? According to their data, maybe 2 people (or 0 or 4 if the fail rate is not uniform across the population) will still end up getting COVID. Since I don't know if I'm really protected, what changes for me? It sounds like I still have to take the same precautions I took before. At some point we move past this regardless regardless of vaccine.

Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds has signed a law allowing people to buy and carry handguns in Iowa without a permit, fulfilling a longtime goal of gun rights advocates. The law, which some advocates call "constitutional carry," will take effect July 1. "Today I signed legislation that protects the 2nd Amendment rights of Iowa’s law-abiding citizens while still preventing the sale of firearms to criminals and other dangerous individuals," Reynolds, a Republican, said in a statement after signing the measure Friday afternoon. Democrats and gun violence prevention groups say the law will roll back background checks on handgun sales between private citizens. That's because, under current law,

Apprehensions at the U.S.–Mexico border reached a 15-year high in March, with Border Patrol agents taking more than 171,000 migrants into custody, according to a new report. The figure represents a sharp increase from the 78,442 migrants apprehended in January, according to preliminary U.S. Customs and Border Protection data published by the Washington Post, as the Biden administration struggles to get a handle on the influx of migrants — especially unaccompanied minors — attempting to enter the country. Customs and Border Patrol took in more than 18,800 unaccompanied minors in March, a 99 percent increase from the month prior. The previous one-month high, recorded in May 2019, was 11,861.

The Butterfly Effect, simply put, is the proposition that small events can trigger and lead to much larger and significant events. It is derived from the idea of a butterfly flapping its wings and causing a tornado elsewhere in the world. On Wednesday of this week, the third day of the trial of Derek Chauvin, a store clerk by the name of Christopher Martin, who took the counterfeit twenty-dollar bill George Floyd was using to pay for a pack of cigarettes, testified that he almost paid for it with his own money before changing his mind. Sometimes tyrants just come right out and say what they mean. Last night was one of those nights. Chris Cuomo and Leana Wen appeared together to bat around an absolutely insane idea, and it shows just how far the left in this country are willing to go to exact their will. In this case, Wen says that vaccinations should be tied to “freedoms,” denying them to those who haven’t yet gotten the shot. I think they call this saying the quiet part out loud. There’s a lot of irony in a “my body, my choice” proponent saying this.

Georgia is not the only state working on legislation to improve election integrity. Texas made a step in the right direction on Thursday when the state Senate approved legislation that would ban mail-in drop boxes and most drive-thru voting. The bill, SB7, was passed on a party-line vote. The criticism of the bill is along party lines, too. The Texas State Senate approved the legislation on April 1, a measure that Republicans say “ensures election integrity,” while Democrats say it’s voter suppression and makes it harder for people with disabilities and ethnic minorities to vote. SB7 passed on a vote of 18-13.

President Joe Biden’s Department of Transportation (DOT) has paused a highway widening project in Houston, Texas, citing Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 as legal justification. In what could be a first for any administration in this context, the Biden administration is using its federal powers to pause the Texas DOT plan to widen Interstate 45. The administration is doing this as a test to address what it calls a history of “government-driven racial inequalities.” This comes after complaints from local activities during the federal DOT’s intervention period. The proposed plan, known as the North Houston Highway Improvement Project, is proposed to widen I-45 at three different sections.

You’d be hard-pressed to get Joe Biden to offer an update, opinion, or even a single fact about the border. That’s a huge mess. It’s his job for that not to be a huge mess. The border is a national security issue. He handed it off to Kamala Harris more than a week ago. She laughed when the media asked if she was going to the border, then laughed at parents who want their kids back in school. Laughing at problems has been Harris’s chief public contribution to the administration so far. Biden’s chief contribution has been to make terrible decisions and get Americans to argue about them.
