MLB is taking its ball and leaving Georgia. The league announced on Friday that it is moving the 2021 All-Star Game out of Atlanta as backlash grows over a new Georgia law that is seen as an attack on voter access.
“I have determined the best way to demonstrate our value as a sport is relocating this year’s All-Star Game and MLB Draft,” commissioner Rob Manfred said in a statement. “MLB fundamentally supports voting rights for all Americans and opposes restrictions to the ballot box.”
Manfred’s decision comes as a growing number of corporations, including Atlanta-based Delta and Coca Cola,

I have no interest in baseball so I don't care , but I do care for reasons that go way beyond sports. This is an attack by liberals/dems/" woke" people that truly believe in their right to rule America, to dictate their opinions , to subjugate the American people.

No big deal since it means Atlanta will lose millions from the people who would have been stupid enough to go to the game. Atlanta is the big loser in all this and it couldn't happen to a nicer city. The rest of Georgia will do just fine.

I went out to Shipshewanna in Indiana with my wife some years back. We stayed at a B&B whose back fence had a gate leading out to a Baseball field. We watched the evening game. It was real. Fun. All the raucous participation of players and fans you could hope for. Free. and...
Non-political. Those will be the only baseball games I go to in the future.

As a Georgia tax payer, this is my response. DONT come knocking the next time you need tax dollars for your stadium upgrades or tax breaks. Its high time that the major league sports start paying their own way.

Watching baseball these past several years is like watching paint dry, grass grow, take your pick of any boring activity. It's pitchers taking time between pitches and batters stepping out of the box to adjust their gloves between pitches causing games to last four hours. The All Star game is most boring because the starters, the best players, come out after three innings and the lesser players take their place making for a very unexciting game with no-names mopping up. I haven't watched in several years because of the aforementioned reasons, and I hope others will stay away because of the ignorance of the people behind the game. Coca Cola, Mercedes, and Delta should move out of Georgia if they feel that strongly about the voting law. Let them move to California,Illinois, Oregon, Washington, or New York. They are the perfect states for cheaters. Someone should speak up and say that the Dems are angry because this law will stop cheating.

I hereby suggest that MLB also boycott all commercial airlines for "flight suppression" and all liquor stores for"alcohol suppression" since all of them require an ID, which no black people seem to have any problem getting and using as required for such proposes.

Re # 3. The Masters is not a PGA event so they do things their own way. It is held under the USGA rules of golf but other than that they control the rest of the event like who gets invited. It's also the only professional golf tournament that invites every past champion to play in the event if they wish. It's why we will get to see Jose Marie Olazabal, Sandy Lyle, Fred Couples, etc. if only for a couple of days.

If Baseball and Basketball both disappeared tonight and never returned, how many people would really care or even notice? These corporate people, Hollywood people, and liberal politicians are getting their panties in a wad over what? If any of them actually read the bill and compared it to the current laws where they live, they might see that the people of Georgia now have it much better than most when it comes to voting rights.

MLB should also boycott the government based on the fact that one has to show an ID to get vaccinated for covid. By their way of thinking, the government wants minorities to die of covid.

No mention of a location to which the game will be moving. I suggest New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Portland, Seattle or Mineapolis where the woke will be well received by the super woke and rioting is certain to follow no matter who wins. What is the MLB going to do when they can no longer blame sparse attendance on COVID?
Joe Biden's usual gem of a comment: (Biden said Wednesday, “I think today’s professional athletes are acting incredibly responsibly. I would strongly support them doing that. People look to them. They are leaders.”) So old sleazy Joe is apparently okay with disrespecting the flag and the country, like all of our pro sports teams have done?

Th... tha..tha... tha..that's all for me, folks!
Baseball has been pissing me off since 1994.
With the political decision to take the All-Star game from Atlanta, MLB has reached its last straw with me.
I will no longer support MLB in any way.
This decision was not made lightly. "Dodgers fan" has been a prominent part of my identity since early childhood in the 1960s. It is not easy to turn my back on MLB.
I read a New York Times -- hardly a right-wing source -- summary of the recent Georgia Voting Bill. I found little if anything objectionable about it.
Honestly, I wish baseball and all sports would stay out of politics altogether.
Thanks for the memories, MLB. 😥😥😭😢

#34 Professional Rodeo is still not political and real. The cowboys are true patriots. It's far past time that professional sports, No, all sports, get out of politics and realize they are sports entertainment, not politicians. If they want to be politicians, then they will have to pick which side of the political aisle they want to be on and then others who do not support that view, can not support them.

This is disturbing in many ways. It will probably discourage other states from enacting similar laws. The media is calling it voter suppression, as if it's a fact. What it reallly is is an attempt to make every vote count. Every act of illegal voting or voter fraud diminishes legally-cast votes. I really do fear that the the Democrats have seized control of our country and there is no turning back. Someone please tell me I'm wrong.

Just ask Manfred exactly what part of the law he objects to...and you'll get that blank stare. Do it to any of these "woke" objectors. They don't know exactly what their problem with the law is, except that it is a return to "Jim Crow"...when Democrats ruled the South.
