Cities in parts of the U.S. that slashed their police department funding last year, in part as a result of police-involved shootings, have seen an uptick in certain crimes over the past year, according to data analyzed by Fox News. Cities such as Los Angeles, Minneapolis, New York City, Portland, Ore., and Austin, Texas, have shifted funds from police departments to social services programs. Such cuts have led some departments to lay off officers, cancel recruiting classes or retreat from hiring goals.

Nothing in recent memory could have been more stupid than defunding the police! Perhaps voting for Biden is as equally stupid but that is another discussion! Any politician or individual who advocated for this incredibly insane idea, is unhinged and disconnected from reality! Treat them accordingly!

When the Residents (who voted for this great idea) have had enough Rape, Robbery, Murder and maybe even Home Invasions in their own communities, they will beg for MORE police. THAT'S When the Police demand a RAISE! Having to go and get rid of the Vermin running wild, those Officers deserve the same pay as those who go into High Risk Areas!

About 20 years ago, there was a renaissance in East Austin. That is the historically black part of town. It became a very trendy area, where people would go to eat and shop. It was a boom for their economy. It was pretty interesting to see how what was once a run down "ghetto" could become a thriving part of town again. But once the police were defunded, and BLM and Antifa were allowed to attack white people with impunity, I wouldn't get caught dead in that part of town now (mainly because I fear the "dead" part of that sentence). The last thing any part of any city needed during the economic hit of the pandemic over-reaction by our city government was for them to defund the police and give the criminals and racist BLM and Antifa thugs carte blanche to riot and destroy!!! But with an uber-lie-beral city government like Austin, what else could you expect?!?!?!?!?

They don't have to defund the police - keep charging them with murder after some punk pulls a gun and gets shot, and the smart ones will retire or move to more police-friendly venues (if they can). The rest will go for desk duty, close their eyes to crimes in progress, keep their heads down, their guns holstered, and hide out until they can move on one way or another.

FTA:Total violent crime in Minneapolis between July 22, 2020, and March 28 was also up 22% year-over-year – 3,692 this year compared to the 3,025 last year And it's worth noting that many liberals are refusing to report crimes to the police because they fear being 'unwoke'. So the number of crimes is actually much higher.

Ocasio-Cortez introduced a total of 21 bills that the center defined as "substantive" — but that is where the story ends. Her legislation received no action in committees, no floor votes, and none ever became law, according to the center, which takes its data from Congress.gov.

Advanced reactors are intended to be designed with enhanced safety features and a smaller footprint for their modular design concept.
