Kamala Harris’ apparent refusal to salute

In what amounts to being more about respect than required actions, Vice President Kamala Harris is getting plenty of scrutiny for not saluting the military honor guard when boarding or disembarking Air Force Two.To be sure, there is no specific regulation that calls on the president or vice president to salute military personnel, but it has become a modern tradition for the president to salute the honor guard stationed at the steps for Marine One and Air Force One.A tradition that was started by Ronald Reagan, as a sign of respect.Making matters worse for Harris,

When you have spent your whole life hating the "baby killing military", it's hard to suddenly have to pretend you actually respect them!!! Poor not-my-vp Camel-Toe Whorish. This can't be easy for her. But once she puts not-my-president Lyin' Joe biden out to pasture using the 25th amendment, as not-my-communist-dictator, she won't have to pretend any more. We have never had a military coup in this country. It couldn't be any worse than what we have now, and it would probably be better than not-my-communist-dictator Camel-Toe Whorish being in charge!!!

Under what right does Kamala Harris have to salute anyone? She is not a member of the military nor is she the CIC. Pence used to routinely salute the military ... and I strongly disagreed with this, too. I don't know why the military was saluting him or why he was returning the salute. I used to laugh that Pence was playing President, but when he didn't stop it angered me. We've no protocols any more.

Ridiculous and petty article. Not very important in the scheme of things. This is similar to what the left does...nitpicking every little thing. There’s enough fodder in the fact that we have a shadow government running this country. Saluting or not is a distraction from the tragedy that our country is undergoing right now.

The salute and return should be reserved exclusively for those in uniform and I understand the negativity of those who have served may have toward those who haven't - and how it looks like civilians 'play soldier' or somehow disrespect uniformed military by saluting. While wearing civilian clothes and boarding a US Navy vessel as a guest I certainly would not pause on the gangway to render a salute to the National Ensign immediately followed by a salute to the OOD. HOWEVER - perhaps a compromise would be in order. How about visually covering your heart w your right hand as you pass the honor guard - or stopping at the top of the gangway, turning to the National Ensign w heart covered, then turning to the OOD w heart covered and pausing before being acknowledged as a guest on board? BOTH would at least show some sense of courtesy toward the honor guard or uniformed military. It's the same reason I would NEVER wear a t shirt with the USMC Globe & Anchor. I'm not a Marine, never have been one (I was USCG) never been through The Crucible - so I haven't earned the right to wear or sport the Globe & Anchor.

A simple sign of respect... doesn't seem to much for commie/kamie/harris to offer the military that guards her backside... she's a bitter woman...her self loathing must stem from all those years on her back...if you cannot respect yourself... then you cannot respect others...perhaps the military should turn their backs on her... just as they did bubba clinton... I'll never forget that scene as it played out.. it was at a meeting of military forces... and they turned their backs on clinton... I think it was because bubba wanted US forces to wear blue united nation helmets...anyone remember?

Just 'cancel' that ceremony two can play it. Military just shouldn't salute or escort anyone except the CIC, simple. Biden is a fraud so don't even salute him. Being former military I don't believe you salute a person not in uniform or when you are out of uniform. A salute is special to me and not to be taken lightly in the military it is the respect for the order and rank. That's good for Harris the fraud it cements her future as the next failure of the left. With HR1, HR4, HR8 and 64 executive orders, plus the latest blaming a Muslim, Trump hating terrorist on white bullying as well as the usual remove 2A, THIS is what conservatives worry about? CIVILIANS are not supposed to salute the military. Remember the Constitution? I do. I swore an oath to it for twenty plus years. Reagan started saluting the military for the first time as a president to show respect as Commander in Chief. No one else has to. This is the biggest SQUIRREL! that Republicans and conservatives are worried about? Of course the Marxist Harris hates the military. DUUUUHHHHH. How's about figuring out how to eliminate Dominion and Smartmatic from calling the elections forever? That and the new laws to eliminate 2A just MIGHT be a scoonch more important than worrying about a Marxist who hates the military, not saluting military members. Damn.

The 'Teen Queen' has no idea of where she is at or what she is doing. She has not bothered to find out what she should do at ceremonies or what is required to respect the flag, honor guards, and other such displays. The President is the Commander in Chief and deserves a salute, that's why the guards always salute and hold the salute until it is returned. That's military tradition.

Georgia’s election reform legislation is pretty good. But the future of the republic is at stake, and “pretty good” isn’t good enough. Unfortunately, while the omnibus bill contains a number of laudable provisions, such as stricter ID requirements and absentee ballot safeguards, it also includes glaring flaws that could render the final product largely meaningless. Most significantly, the language used to “ban” private funding of election administration has a loophole large enough to drive a semi-truck full of ballots through. Although the legislation bars election officials from directly accepting private funding, the wording expressly allows funding to flow through “the governing authority of the county or municipality,”

President Joe Biden said he would “strongly support” moving the Major League Baseball All-Star Game out of Atlanta because of Georgia’s new voting law that critics say may suppress turnout at the ballot box. Biden spoke to ESPN’s Sage Steele in an 11-minute interview Wednesday night, saying he would back the MLB if the league decided to move the July 13 game out of Georgia in response to the GOP-backed election reform signed last month by Republican Gov. Brian Kemp.(Snip) Biden characterized the new law–which adds a photo ID requirement for voting absentee by mail and bans

The Biden administration is granting thousands of illegal border crossers one-year renewable permits to stay in the United States to apply for asylum, a process that can take years. What’s more, according to a new report, they are allowed to receive Social Security cards, paving the way to government benefits and jobs. Immigration expert Todd Bensman, who has been embedded in the process for the Center for Immigration Studies, said in a new report that an estimated 34,000 recent border crossers have already been distributed around the country with the documents.
The 10 Radical New Rules That Are
Changing America

There are 10 new ideas that are changing America, maybe permanently. 1) Money is a construct. It can be created from thin air. Annual deficits and aggregate national debt no longer matter much. Prior presidents ran up huge annual deficits, but at least there were some concessions that the money was real and had to be paid back. Not now. As we near $30 trillion in national debt and 110 percent of annual GDP, our elites either believe permanent zero interest rates make the cascading obligation irrelevant, or the larger the debt, the more likely we will be forced to address needed income redistribution. 2) Laws are not necessarily binding

The Virginia Supreme Court ruled Thursday that Confederate statues of Robert E. Lee and Thomas “Stonewall” Jackson in Charlottesville can be removed, after a years-long legal battle involving attempts to preserve the historic Civil War memorials. Justice S. Bernard Goodwyn said the city of Charlottesville could take the statues down because a 1997 law protecting war memorials did not apply retroactively to statues erected before the law was passed. “In the present case, the statues were erected long before there was a statute which both authorized a city’s erection of a war memorial or monument and regulated the disturbance of or interference

President Joe Biden has introduced a gargantuan spending bill ostensibly aimed at shoring up and expanding America’s crumbling infrastructure, but as usual, there are a lot of things in the measure completely unrelated to ‘infrastructure.’To be sure, the measure would spend hundreds of billions on roads, bridges, airports, and so forth. In fact, a Washington Post analysis found that the bill earmarks $650 billion for those kinds of projects. But again, that’s just $650 billion out of $2.2 trillion. So — if this is an ‘infrastructure’ spending bill, where is the other two-thirds of the money (that we don’t have) going?

I previously wrote about the historical and legal perspectives of a biting incident involving one of the presidential pets, Major. Both Biden German Shepherds (Major and Champ) were previously whisked out of town. They were then quietly brought back. Now Major has bitten another person who reportedly required medical attention. In the prior column, I noted that under tort law a dog is afforded (at most) “one free bite” before strict liability applies. Major could now be treated as a known vicious animal for liability purposes.(Snip) he difference between “nipped” and “bitten” is that you are bitten by other people’s dogs. Your dog however only nips, which is somewhere

President Joe Biden's Secretary of Education is looking into whether the president can cancel up to $50,000 in student loan debt for millions of borrowers. White House Chief of Staff Ron Klain said at a Politico Playbook event Thursday that Biden has asked Education Secretary Miguel Cardona to figure out if the president has the legal authority to wipe out their balances. On the campaign trail he said he wanted to wipe away $10,000 per borrower, but prominent Democrats, including Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, Sen. Elizabeth Warren and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez have pressed him to pursue $50,000 in debt relief per student.
