You might have noticed that you've been shelling out more for things like houses, gas, and cars. And it's been hard to get your hands on things like fitness gear, sofas, and roller skates. That's because America is reopening to a more expensive economy than the one that existed pre-pandemic. For now, it has a lot to do with a shortage of materials that manufacturers need to make these things. When supply is low, prices climb for manufacturers, and consumers end up paying more for the end product. The materials shortage has to do with several factors. The work-from-home economy

And things like homeowners insurance...because the cost of rebuilding is increasing. People are really stupid and just don’t get it.

OP is right. The government is spending money it doesn't have so the dollar is being devalued. This and lockdowns of small businesses is leading to disruptions of the economy.

If you want to make God laugh , make plans. That was my dads favorite line. Well I’m a contractor and had plans to semi retire and take care of my own building desires. The first being a cabin on some family property. Plywood has gone through the roof and even a sheet of OSB is up to 32 bucks I can’t afford to build at that price. So now I will continue to work for other people as long as they can afford these prices.

Everything is more expensive with higher fuel costs. Trucks deliver 80-90% of stuff, and these hateful fascists have intentionally driven up fuel costs. And they WILL go higher.
Intentionally wrecking the economy.

If China and Russia wanted to really screw things up they'd drop the dollar as their exchange currency. Think of the inflation all those yummy yummy dollars would do to our economy if they came flooding back home. Remember BRICS? Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa - the countries wanting to drop the dollar about 10 - 15 years ago? It's already been (and is probably still being) discussed.
Being $30T in debt doesn't help much. That's about $90k ($30T / 330M) owed by every man, woman and child in America. Take out the elderly and children and that number goes up about 4 times for all tax payers.
By the way, there's a big difference between 0% interest on $30T being printed up out of thin air and 20% or 30% interest - the main way to avoid inflation is to increase interest rates. If that happens it'll be bye bye military, SS, Medicare and Medicaid. That, or 90% of our paychecks will be going to taxes. Find your spot under the overpass and a good soup kitchen while you can.

The real-estate market is insane. I tried to purchase a house for my mother last summer and got out bid three times in a row. Same with a co-worker. Houses are going for more than asking price. Cant speak to NYC, where there's a glut of available properties. I sold my mothers house for more than asking price in 5 days. The buyer had previously been outbid repeatedly.
When all of this ends, I cant help but think that the market is going to crash with the glut of coming foreclosures.

Plan to ruin everything worldwide, and you could not have come up with the amount of ruin the governments have created. More destruction than 2 world wars.

I ordered a pair of shoes in early March and they won't be shipped until May 23. The date keeps getting pushed forward. I think this is due to shipping backlog at the ports.

Home/office ink jet/laser printers *out of stock* sort of like ammo. And a car dealership sent me a notice that they would buy my 2018 Subaru outright at above value! The Cure is indeed worse than the disease!

Oh goodie....stagflation again!! Ugh... It's too bad the society and politics won't go back to the 70s too. At least, life was better, more normal and more honest back then. Gas lines will probably return though...all the worst of the Carter years without any of the good.
Shortages of everything are still going on since the inception of COVID lockdowns. Paper products, cat food and lots of other things are limited too. I have been trying to get chicken livers for months with no success. Venezuela, here we come...

Went to family owned local appliance sales to order a refrigerator Dec. 3; 8-10 weeks for delivery. Um, okay, will give us time to squirrel away other half of balance due. Patted ourselves on the back for staying out of big box stores. 10 weeks came & went. I called wondering what status is; now told delivery is possible between March 19 and 1st of April. Where are factory workers , home watching Netflix on unemployment still?

What about the post office ....it took a month to get a bill & it was past due????Fed Ex manages to deliver in 2 days??? How about tax refunds taking forever to receive?? Almost everything on the shelves is made in China & it’s junk. Government workers & politicians never missed a check during the virus situation while others lost their jobs & businesses. Government is completely out of control & nothing can or will be done.

Raise taxes on corporations. That will fix it. In fact raise taxes on everyone and everything. Paying taxes is our patriotic duty, per Xiden.

It's all by design. An unhappy population is a pliable population. Don't worry about those poor inner city folks or that alleged one child in five who is hungry, you will have the privilege of paying for their homes and meals too.

I checked with a local gun dealer who had, big surprise, no ammunition. I told him that I doubted the usual explanation for that... that new gun owners bought up all the ammo because I didn't see ANYone selling ammo in ANY quantity.
He said that the supply chain had been disrupted by up to 3 months of covid closures and that this extended all the way back from the final manufacturers to all the component makers. I don't doubt that the WHOLE of our economy suffers from this.

The price of a gallon of gasoline has gone up one dollar in my city since January. That is just one direct cost of electing Biden. Direct cost.
