The Biden administration is trying to figure out exactly what’s holding up the national Covid-19 vaccine rollout, searching for any hiccups in the manufacturing process, suppliers and distribution networks, Dr. Rochelle Walensky, the new director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, said Thursday. President Joe Biden has vowed to have 100 million shots of vaccine administered in his first 100 days in office, a task that would require the U.S. to modestly accelerate the current rate of vaccination. Some large states, though, are telling the federal government they have capacity to vaccinate even more people but aren’t getting

Wonder why the msm isn’t reporting that the million a day vaccinations is already here. Biden’s group has to do that figure just to keep up. The main reason the startup was slow is the dem states didn’t think the vaccine would be available till a least late 21 or 22 hence they did no or little prep.

Here, let me help out. It's the incompetence of the states. They had no plan for vaccine distribution despite months to figure one out. They aren't using all of the doses they have so it's not a matter of not getting the vaccine to them.

They were already giving one million shots a day before Biden stepped in. Now they manufacture an imaginary problem and rush to fix it.

Biden's administration is practically non-existent until confirmed by the senate.
Biden's administration couldn't organize a trip to the bathroom.
Biden's administration couldn't organize a Guatemalan funeral with one set of jumper cables.
Mattressback's administration will get stuff done. You may not like it though. Beware the Ides of March.

What's delaying COVID vaccine shots?
A. There is no federal delay.
B. It's a state issue. Up to them to distribute and see you get stuck in the arm.
C. Biden's 100 million shot promise was an overreach and he needs an excuse when he doesn't reach it.
D. It's all Trump's fault.
Your answer: ____

The Biden Administration is learning that disaster response is local. Covid Vaccine administration falls under the category of disaster response. State and Counties should have had a plan for mass inoculation. In my rural county in Oklahoma the local health department drills for this response with flu vaccine drive-through inoculation. The Chickasaw Nation provides the vaccine for this drill. By doing so county staff works out kinks and the public becomes comfortable getting a shot while in the car. For many years I lived in Wichita Falls, Tx. That community held a yearly disaster drill that was fined tuned to be a piece of art.

It's the stupid CDC guidelines, the governors and incompetent bureaucracy. The states should be vaccinating night and day until all citizens are vaccinated.

In our area there is no supply. It's all used up. I have called everywhere. Perhaps I can drive several hundred miles and find some in some small town out in the boonies. So it seems the problem is the pharmacy firms can't produce it fast enough for demand.

It's a supply problem. Pfizer and Moderna alone don't have the manufacturing capacity for a two dose scheme. J&J/Janssen is a month or two away. The rest is distribution. My understanding is that Dictator Rex Cuomo let about 200k doses spoil due to his insane restrictions on who receives.

In one-party Illinois, only a third of the doses have been used, as of a few days ago. Maybe it's better now that hospitals have been told to vaccinate more people, but it's still far less than 100%. And the 100 millions doses in 100 days is just saying they will be doing the same as before. There are already over 900K doses per day being given now.

The problem is that hospitals do not have enough vaccine to administer to those requiring the vaccine, so get it to the hospitals so they can schedule more appointments. Some hospitals have already scheduled shots for the vaccine qty they have on hand and are not taking anymore appts.

I'll help these clueless idiots. Government is holding up the vaccines. Up until government got their hands on it, private industry made it and sent it out in record time.

The article seems to repeat every fact two or three times. What happens when the vaccine starts flowing like West Virginia moonshine and public interest fades away? I can see the day coming when Sloe Joe starts using the "M" word (mandatory).
Veterinarians recruited to give the shots? "Okay, hold you paw up and don't bite."

Part of the problem for many is getting an appointment. Where to get enough techs to administer the shots.FL is getting people from Michigan flying here to take part of our supply. Kind of like NYers coming here and spreading the virus.

Instead of vaccine, maybe doctor airhead Jill can have the White House kitchen staff bake them some chocolate chip cookies.

I thought Old Joe's mere presence would make the complex distribution chain snap to attention. Expect lots of blame shifting and excuse making when political meddling does nothing to get vaccines more widely distributed.
