They are smarter than mask wearers. But it didn't apparently protect them.

This is interesting. So is it because gorillas are our "cousins"? What about other simians? Mammals in general? More reasons for fauci and blue state governments to get excited about. Next time you take Sparky out for a walk you both might have to wear a mask.

Our neverending battle with COVIDS and "variations"...it will run so long as the people run scared.
Oh, look, GOVERNMENT will save you!
Oh, YES! Please save us, GOVERNMENT!
Wear a mask, wash your hands, avoid other people, get vaccinated, honor our heroes, watch lots of TV, vote liberal, and here's another check.

I seriously doubt this. How was the testing done? If it was RT-PCR and over 30 cycles this is a complete fiction and junk "science"

Too many good potential jokes here that I must restrain myself from using. I hope they get to be first in line for the vaccine.

So gorillas got the 'rona. I would love to see Dr Faux mandate masks for pets. They would have none of it.

Governor Brylcreem felt the need to point this out during his daily bs spew yesterday. Just another reason to stay home and masked.

"The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary."
H. L. Mencken was right. He was born in 1880, lived to 1956, and even then he clearly saw what politicians did.

Two weeks ago - we heard there is nominal chance of asymptomatic transmission. Now, we hear 70% of cases are coming through that? We need a better "BS" meter if we are going to make it through this pandemic.

Right, OP. Good luck with the masks and the hand-washing…. :-)

Gorillas are mammals. Bats are mammals. If Covid 19 can be caught out in open air, who’s to say that a handler gave it to them? It could have floated in from somewhere else, right? Someone sneezed in North County and voila!

So, gorillas in otherwise good health will recover just fine from Covid. Cannot that be said for humans as well? Of course it can.

Are they social distancing? Are there painted circles in their enclosure where they have to stand? How do the keepers at the zoo get them to wash their hands for 20 seconds?
