2020 continues to be the worst year ever. Enjoyed his shows and admire his wish to continue to work with a death sentence. RIP.

To my fellow 60-70 year olds, we continue to lose what building blocks of the familiar we know. The final, or so it seems, chapter is begun and the wheels do not stop. We slowly die.

He did his job well. Class act from what I can tell. Rest in peace. My adult son says James Woods should replace him...

At his wedding when he as asked, "Do you take this woman...," his replay was, "The answer is, I do." He was quite a guy and will be missed.

Alex is one of a few guys I have spent a part of my day with, everyday, for years. I will really miss him. I hope that my prayers add to millions of others, helped to give him more time with his family
This year, the threads of my past have been broken eight times. Two who were very close confidants, other friends and elderly family members. Each one was special to me, and none had anything to do with Covid.
So far 2020 has been the worst year of my life...and THAT is saying something.

Alex Trebek was the perfect host for Jeopardy. I have admired his work ethic as he has fought the terrible battle of pancreatic cancer. RIP and condolences to his family.

He looked so good in the current season, it was easy to forget how sick he was. He will be greatly missed!

No one ever surrounded themselves with more excellence - day after day, year after year - than Alex.

Oh, I hate to hear this. He was one of a kind. Humble, smart, lived life in the spotlight out of the spotlight, lived on his own terms. Decades long career. We knew this would get him, like it gets so many others, this horrid pancreatic cancer. Michael Landon fought it to the last minute as well. Hate cancer. Pray for Dan Bongino as well. Cancer invades every life, even if from a slight distance, as you watch suffering of those you love or know even slightly. Aside from dementia, it is my #1 hated enemy in this life.

Sorry to hear this. He fought a good fight and lasted over a year and a half with about the worse possible cancer survival rate. My sister-in-law died May 20th, five months after her diagnosis. Ruth Ginsburg fought for several years with it. Makes you wonder what or how some people last for a while and for others it's a quick death.
Blessings to his family.

To the poster who said James Woods should take the slot on Jeopardy - OF COURSE HE SHOULD! MENSA man, brilliant at his craft and dedicated conservative. The man's brain never stops. He is always 5 steps ahead of the next sentence uttered.. Brilliant idea.

Neat, #7. (Though I'm a little surprised he didn't say, "What is 'I do'?")
"Hello, St. Peter. Can I buy an "o"? The answer for all clues is God, who is all in all."
May he rest in peace, free from limbo, distress, OR jeopardy.

Think more along the lines of Ken Jennings as a host. No one can replace Alex.
But Jennings has been brought in as producer.

Boy, does the next host of Jeopardy have some shoes to fill. I wouldn't want that job trying to follow Alex Trebek. Your every word and move is going to be under a microscope, and compared to Trebek.

I had the pleasure of being in the studio audience a couple of times as the guest of a contestant. During the breaks, rather than disappear backstage, Alex made of point of coming out and chatting with the audience. He was so warm and gracious. Unforgettable.

He had a great career, but the best payoff must have been the outpouring of support from his audience. He deserved it.

He lived with dignity and died with not only dignity, but the respect of all. I heard an interview with him yesterday where he said he was not afraid to die, but he hated to leave people sadden by his death. RIP
This is such a horrible disease. As a survivor, I pray for a cure.
