Doctors not involved in treating President Donald Trump for COVID-19 said the fact that he has been started on dexamethasone - a generic steroid widely used in other diseases to reduce inflammation - is evidence his case is severe. Trump’s medical team on Sunday said the president was started on the steroid after experiencing low oxygen levels, but his condition was improving and he could be discharged from the hospital on Monday. “What I heard in the news conference description suggested the President has more severe illness than the generally upbeat picture painted,” said Dr. Daniel McQuillen, an infectious disease

It must really gall them that a overweight 74 year old man is doing well a few days after contracting COVID-19. That's not supposed to happen!

Americans are praying for President Trump, We are paying close attention to the news regarding his health. At 6:15 today he did not seem to be ill. He was confident and strong. His color was good and his voice was strong. He's OUR MAN! A genuine leader! America needs him more than ever.

Reuters so opposite is truth. Of course the video we all saw where the President looked fine was fake right?

Do steroids indicate "severe illness"? My doctor treated me with steroids last year when all I had was a bad cold. They are given to help lessen the effects of a cold and reduce swelling. I would think that steroids would be given as the first thing. Sounds like the reporters shopped around for a doctor that would give the quote they wanted. Reuters, of course.

Ok, let's go with their assessment that it was more serious than reported for a moment. So what can we conclude from the fact that he's going to be released from the hospital tomorrow? Trump can even beat the day Chinese virus over a weekend and be back in time Monday to kick more leftist butts? Great. Shows he's not just a stable genius, he's also Superman.
Love the sound of Democrat heads exploding on Monday morning.

So folks, I am a pharmacist by training, retired now. However, if I get the Kung Fu Flu I am going to go on hydroxychloroquine, a Z pack, zinc, and dexamethasone (orally) - I will do anything to stay out of the hospital. Back in the 70’s whenever a patient went into shock we loaded them with steroids (Decadron was the trade name for dexamethasone) so I wondered why they were not using it for Covid.

FTA, "Doctors not involved in treating President Donald Trump for COVID-19 said..." Even James Comey's FBI would call that a clue. Are these the same doctors that claim Trump has multiple mental illness from their offices at some Ivy League school? If one doesn't see or treat the patient, then one has no idea about the illness. Speculation is, at best, a parlor game.

Play a side by side video of Trump while struggling a deadly illness with Biden struggling with consciousness. I'm surprised they could pump up Biden for the last debate. He mocked the drug and ear piece test, but he didn't TAKE the tests. The latter tells us a lot more than the former.
Trump, is Reagan Tough.

Orrrr, maybe the real experts who work with real patients in a real hospital, know exactly where his covid would have progressed to. Since he is president, I have no problem with preemptive treatment to help our President. Bless those medicos and blast the fake experts who have absolutely no clue and most likely are liberals who have not worked on the front lines of covid.

I want to thank the medical team for allowing us to experience what it is like to be Trump on steroids. The sad Dems don't have a chance for sure now.

Are there any experts on covid? If so, they showed up today, because they haven't shown any knowledge or expertise in the last 6 months.

That is such bs.First doctors that have not examined and are not involved the care of a patient should not opine in their treatment. The steroids are given to all COVID that develop any signs of breathing difficulties to stop the inflammatory reaction in the lungs which is what kills these patients. Just Like the ventilators are avoided since it can be lethal in inflammatory infiltration of the lungs as it happens in Covid-19

Yeah, the President got Wuhan Lite.
/s off
Idiots, fools, morons and liars. This proves the effectiveness of the monoclonal antibody treatment. Those antibodies attach themselves to the spikes on the Wuhan virus and then they have no "keys" to access cells and reproduce. Boom.....virus is stopped in it's tracks.
EVERYONE who gets this disease should be able to get the Regeneron monoclonal antibody cocktail starting next week or sooner. Keeping this miracle treatment away from people is immoral and not humane. This should fall under the 'right to try' law for anyone with Wuhan flu.

Has anybody asked why it seems like only GOP's have been infected by this newest waves of infections. I don't believe in pure chance. Is it possible that of the most recent debate, attendees were infected on purpose during mandatory swab testing at the Case Western Reserve Campus and Cleveland Clinic? Is it possible the swab itself was the vehicle used to infect GOP's only, just prior to the debate.
We could very well be talking about attempted murder...all in the name of getting rid of Trump.

#18 I agree. Somebody tell me why Dems and rioters aren't getting infected. I will always believe someone infected this group on purpose.
Anything to keep the President from being re-elected. Anything.

Hooray for above posters. The President got really good aggressive treatment. He wasn't sent home to tough it out like so many were in March and even now. The press acts as if there are no treatments - which is one reason the nation has been on the edge of panic. The narrative is that this is a disease that has no remedy nor palliatives. No agency is informing the public of the available 'home' remedies. We have to rely on people like Dr. Oz & the 'Frontline' doctors from Eastern Virginia Medical School & hope they are right! [Quercetin, zinc lozenges, Vit. D3, Vit. C, melatonin - to counter the cytokinetic storm, aspirin - etc.]. Your own physician, if he belongs to a big commercial 'practice' like Providence or Humana, will most likely not be allowed to prescribe anything as simple as HCQ & zinc. Only an independent practice might be more flexible. A friend who lives in South Africa said the US is a medical police state. He can buy HCQ over the counter and he has his stash ready for himself & other people who are sick in his neighborhood. HCQ plus a Z-pak is the standard of care in India & Spain now. In Spain they are beginning to add calcifediol - which is "pre-metabolized" Vitamin D3to keep people out of the ICU. We have an acquaintance who got the stuff in March - she was higher risk - over 60 - and her doctor just told her to stay at home & advised no medicine. She said it was awful - worse than double pneumonia. Somebody took her a big pot of homemade chicken soup - she said it saved her life. I am betting it did - chicken soup contains NAC (N-Acetyl Cysteine) a semi-essential amino acid - which is starting to be used for COPD and which is also being given to COVID patients to help their lungs.

Good grief! My doctor gave me a steroid when I had bronchitis a few years ago. It helped with inflammation and I felt better. I suspect quite a few of the pearl clutching journalists have had the same treatment.
